The Houthis are still hitting shipping and Saudi targets. @realDonaldTrump has not gone silent. He has publicly held Iran responsible as the proxy, threatened major military punishment if it continues, and @USArmy have already destroyed Iranian-linked boats and kept the blockade running.
@POTUS has also said he wants the larger fight settled after the midterms rather than escalating it in the final weeks. That is not “doing nothing.” It is pacing. Whether it is the right pace is fair to debate. The claim that America is sitting idle is not what the record shows.
Inflation is up. The latest CPI is 3.7% year-over-year, with the jump driven hard by energy and petrol. That tracks the shipping and oil disruption. Core is lower. It is not invented, and it is not nothing.
The midterms are tight. Republicans hold a thin House majority. 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁’𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆. Models currently lean toward a Democratic House, the Senate is harder for them. Judges blocking executive actions is not new and is not imaginary. Some Republicans are keeping distance. That is the political reality, not a conspiracy theory.
On California, the Justice Department just sued the state, alleging more than 20,000 likely non-citizens were sent mail ballots. They want those ballots segregated until citizenship is checked. It is an active federal case, not a settled fact that every ballot is fraudulent, but it is not nothing either.
I know it feels like the walls are closing. The same God who has watched nations rise and fall is not surprised by midterms, judges, or Houthi drones.

It’s a picture of the President traveling with his then-press secretary Katie Zacharia and aide Natalie Harp. Marines at the door, standard trip. Critics saw two blonde women who happen to look a bit like Ivanka and decided it proved he lives in a “bubble of praise” to protect his ego.
That’s not analysis. That’s a Rorschach test for people who already despise him. Every president travels with aides. The difference is the media only turns it into a deep psychological study when it’s @realDonaldTrump
🤦Zacharia lasted about five days in the job. Harp has been around for years. Neither fact turns a routine helicopter shot into evidence of psychosis.
The people calling it the “most psychologically telling image of his presidency” are the same ones who spent years inventing meanings for every photo, every gesture, every staff choice. The photo shows a man doing his job with the people who work for him. Everything else is the commentary they wished was true.

Ricky Jefferies is a Aussie father of three who runs a small barbershop near the electorate office of Dr. Helen Haines MP, in northeastern Victoria.
After he witnessed the car ramming against Dr. Haines, he immediately ran to stop the driver. When he got there, he noticed he had a knife, so Jefferies wrenched it out from him and then wrestled the driver, pinning him down there with the weight of his body until police arrived.
Despite the ordeal, he was already back cutting hair at 7am this morning, saying “I don’t consider myself a hero,” outside his barbershop, adding “I consider myself a member of the community; I just had a role to play, and mine just happened to be the first story heard.”
