Isn't English taught in Japan? I feel like there must be at least *someone* at CyGames on the JP side that would be able to guide things or really put their foot down if things were totally off the mark.
I don't really like when it's just localizers that are blamed I guess
That being said, I feel like if this was a sincere issue that cut into their bottom line that CyGames would do something about it. It's clearly not pushing people away from the game as a whole, so I feel like it indicates that what localizers are doing is probably working
I'm just a bit skeptical of the fact that all JP game companies are apparently too ignorant to see that their works are apparently being butchered or that this is some orchestrated cabal, but on the other hand "Company, Japan" wouldn't absolve them of that ignorance either.

This article seems to genuinely not care about that and its suggestions are fine, even if I still like unnecessary flair like Digitan's keyboard smashing to make her feel more like the fandom addict he is. But it's a CyGames problem, not a gaijin problem, they approve it lol
For the record, I think it's idiotic to make opinions on translation a culture war thing in general, but when 99% of people I see for anti-localization start to gripe it almost always boils down to this. And they suggest AI translations which I'd think would still erase culture
Do you mind elaborating? It always feels like the argument is "Localizers are inherrently morally corrupt savage LIBERALS and are secretly xenophobes trying to Americawash a noble people's culture," so if we're acknowledging it's a poor choice by CyGames where does that leave us?
