The crazy thing about this is that Henry Cavill is the no-brainer pick for Bond, but everyone knows how faithful he is to lore.
Ironically, *he* would do Bond justice but he exists in an era where the power players are hostile or resistant to an accurate depiction of the spy.

DCStudios took the well loved character that is John Stewart and made his whole story about racism. Made him an impulsive, incompetent, bitter moron.
They then shat all over Hal Jordan. Contextually trashed him the entire show. And shot him in the head.
But they shot it with a grey color grade so it must be high level deep writing.

If you didn't create an I.P.'s characters, you shouldn't be the one to go back and define them. You're simply not qualified to do so. Tell more stories, sure. But do not go back and create a backstory for a character you had no hand in creating in the first place.
