Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who boasted of supplying Israel with vast quantities of ammunition as its bombs tore Gaza’s children apart, has fallen from power.
Another shameless accomplice in Israel’s genocide belongs in history’s dustbin.

What a liar. IDF yanked underage Palestinian children from their beds at night claiming they threw rocks. She claims IDF would find guns (more like steal money & gold), claims she doesn't know much about those horrific raids she took part in. No wonder they are genocide deniers.

Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail.
My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip.
I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.

It's a good job Suella Braverman claimed £45,000 for water bills on her parliamentary expenses. If she had failed to declare a ten quid overpayment on Universal Credit, she'd have been in serious trouble then.

Just in: IPSO has refused to investigate the Telegraph cartoon of Mothin Ali, the Green Party's Muslim deputy leader, grinning over a knife and fork at the severed head of Zack Polanski, its Jewish leader, who is drawn with a hooked nose. Nearly 1,200 of you complained.
IPSO's reason: the cartoon is about two individuals, so only Mothin and Zack can complain. How racist the drawing is doesn't come into it.
IPSO did not have to do this, and it has done the opposite before.
IPSO's rules let it take up a complaint from people other than the person written about, when the breach is significant, and there is a substantial public interest in looking at it.
In July 2023 it used that power. It ruled that Jeremy Clarkson's Sun column about the Duchess of Sussex was sexist, after complaints from two women's charities, the Fawcett Society and the WILDE Foundation. The Duchess did not complain.
The Telegraph's editor, Chris Evans, chairs the committee that writes the Editors' Code, which is the rulebook IPSO enforces.
The Telegraph is still selling prints of the cartoon today.
IPSO's rule says it may take up a complaint like this, not that it must. So this was a choice.
Picture a school. One boy draws two classmates, a Muslim boy and a Jewish boy. He gives the Jewish boy a hooked nose and puts his head on a plate, and draws the Muslim boy about to eat it. He pins the picture to the noticeboard and sells copies at the gate.
A thousand pupils go to the head teacher. She tells them she can only act if the two boys in the picture come to her themselves.
So the picture stays on the board, and every Muslim and Jewish child in the school walks past it each morning. The boy who drew it learns he can do it again.
And the rulebook the head teacher is reading from was written by a committee his dad chairs.
Nobody would say that head teacher is protecting the children. She is protecting the boy who drew it.
That is what IPSO has done. It says it regulates the Telegraph, and it has just told nearly 1,200 people that a racist cartoon in a paper it regulates is not its business unless the two men drawn in it come and ask.

New Action Campaign: Nathan Cofnas wrote that under his version of meritocracy, "Blacks would disappear from almost all high-profile positions outside of sports and entertainment."
Oxford’s Reform Society has invited him to speak at Oriel College on 17 November.
Its event promotion even presents his intervention against Jason Arday as a credential. We documented 188 substantive articles in nine days after Arday publicly described his distress. The organisers are now selling that intervention as a reason to hear Cofnas speak.
Their defence is "freedom of speech". But no law made them invite him in the first place. The defence is a concession, hiding behind a law as though the Cofnas invitation is out of their hands.
The committee chose him. Legal protection for an invited speaker does not make that choice defensible, or turn his claims about racial hierarchy into credible scholarship.
"It is lawful" does not answer "why did you choose him?" And calling on the committee to withdraw its invitation is free speech too.
We've launched a campaign demanding that withdrawal, with letters to the organisers and the Oxford representatives who can press them to reconsider.

Flávio Bolsonaro wants Brazil’s election annulled because, he claims, Lula “changed the rules halfway through the game” by extending voting hours.
There’s just one rather inconvenient detail. Bolsonaro’s own campaign ALSO requested an extension!
His request covered specific areas, while Lula’s was nationwide, but both wanted voting hours extended.
Now, having lost by 4.4 million votes, he wants the result overturned over a measure his own campaign supported.
Quite extraordinary.
