LA’s solution to homelessness is handing out brown bags filled with drug paraphernalia.
This is not care.
This is why people are leaving “housing first” facilities in body bags.
Exactly right, @pulte! 🇺🇸
President Trump continues to unlock the American Dream for American families.
This action will unleash our private sector, boost manufactured housing supply, and increase housing affordability across the country.
Thank you, @POTUS!

Housing First was the old play. Homelessness rose, and NGO paychecks rose faster.
@SecretaryTurner knows a broken play when he sees one. He’s calling a new play: people housed, treated, and self-sufficient.
Looking forward to co-chairing the Task Force with HUD Secretary to streamline bringing down permitting and other regulatory burdens.
President Trump is a builder, and today he is committing to bring even more innovative and affordable housing solutions to market for the American people.
The Task Force on Manufactured Housing Innovation will continue to slash red tape, unleash private sector innovation, and deliver housing affordability for American families.

HUD is tearing down regulations to free up innovation — so builders can build and buyers can buy.
The Regulatory Best Practices Playbook
Under failed Housing First, homelessness increased 100%.
Under President Trump, we are changing the play.
Record Funding. Record Homelessness.
Under @POTUS, American families come first.
They shouldn’t have to compete with Wall Street for a home. @SecScottBessent and @USTreasury are stopping large institutional investors from buying up single-family homes.
This is how we restore the American Dream of homeownership. 🇺🇸
"Deregulate all of this burdensome red tape that is crippling housing."

HUD @SecretaryTurner on what counts as success:
Success used to be the amounts of units filled and the amount of money thrown at homelessness. That’s not success, when you have people dying.
Now success is: get people housed, get them treated, and get them back to a life of self-sufficiency.
Housed, treated, self-sufficient. That’s the new standard.
The failure of California’s Skid Row cannot continue.
HUD is committed to compassionate common sense.
Redefining Success
The Bronx’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” is what a failed Housing First model looks like.
Not only is it an eyesore, it also shows that permanent street living isn’t the answer.
HUD is ending this status quo.
Great to stand with @RepMonicaDLC as we celebrate the Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act, which @POTUS signed into law.
This means wounded veterans won’t have their disability benefits counted against them when they need HUD housing help. 🇺🇸
As a fellow Texan, it was great to be in South Texas with @RepMonicaDLC.
HUD’s work on housing affordability is helping young families, first-time buyers, and veterans achieve the American Dream of homeownership.
Under @POTUS, we are cutting the #1 barrier to affordable housing: heavy bureaucratic red tape.
I joined @RepMonicaDLC and the Rio Grande Valley Builders Association in McAllen for a discussion on supporting Texas’s veterans and bringing down the cost of housing for families across Hidalgo County.
We discussed how HUD is partnering with state and local leaders to cut expensive regulations, steward the HUD-VASH program to reduce veteran homelessness, and drive revitalization through Opportunity Zones.
Local partnerships are delivering results.
Just finished touring Jaguar Heights in Edinburg with @RepMonicaDLC — a public-private partnership and community land trust pilot putting affordable homeownership within reach in the Rio Grande Valley.
@AhstiInfo has originated $10.5M in loans and built 100+ homes, creating concrete pathways to homeownership for South Texans.
