I can’t remember which airline I was complaining about when some people told me to try Value Jet. They said they were quite reliable. So, I decided to try them today.
Value Jet 4pm flight from Abuja to Lagos. Boarding was announced just after 4pm. We all got to the foot of the aircraft and the plane couldn’t take everyone. It turns out they had combined two flights. Some people were told at the foot of the plane that they couldn’t go on the flight.
They took our hand luggages at the foot of the aircraft because the cabins, according to them, the cabins were full. We were not given any luggage tags. I asked and they said there was no need.
As I boarded, they asked to see my boarding pass and said “Free seating after Row 8.” I asked, “What do you mean? I am in Business Class, seat 5A.” They found me a seat at 2A.
When we were seated, they announced we were going to Lagos via Iperu, Ogun State. The lady Prof that sat next to me said we were taking the scenic route and we both laughed when they announced that we should sit back and relax.😀
When we got to Iperu, those of us going to Lagos were asked to stay onboard. It turns out that some people who were going to Lagos with us were planning to then go on to the Ijebu and Ikene axis from there. Given the unexpected detour to Iperu, they took the opportunity to disembark there. My process and quality assurance mind went to the integrity of the flight manifest.
I had a window seat and just happened to see my hand luggage being taken to the terminal. Because it is an all-Aluminum case, it is rather distinctive and easily distinguishable. I had to shout. They said they would sort it out and would ask for all the bags to be brought back. That took another 10 minutes.
When all the bags were brought back, we were then asked to disembark to identify our luggage. Some passengers had a few choice words for them.😀 They wondered what would have happened if I hadn’t seen my bag being taken to the terminal at Iperu.
When we eventually re-boarded, they then made the usual apology for the delay “for operational reasons.” One guy shouted “Operational reasons kee you there!”😂 There were shouts of “fraud”, “scam” and “deceit” from the back.
At 7:07 pm, three hours after boarding, we finally landed in Lagos.
Somehow, I am not even in the mood to make wahala today. I just want to get to my hotel and have a cold beer.😀
When flight cancellations and rescheduling become a constant in your operations, then it means there is something fundamentally wrong #airpeace. Why was my flight for tomorrow rescheduled for 11hrs??

According to this McKinsey report, the construction industry is the 2nd least digitised industry, only beating Agriculture and hunting 😬. That is abysmal.
A big audacious goal for us at bnklé is to help digitise the construction value chain in Africa.

Keep trying & you will be successful someday. I was in the hole when I came here from China with nothing, couldn’t speak English well at 24, started my own business at 36, not profitable for 8 years. Today, I am living the American Dream with 3 home businesses.

Aproko Doctor was diagnosed with a brain tumour in Dec 2022. Even went blind on one eye! Thankfully, he met Dr. Tayo Ojo who successfully operated & removed the tumour. Thank God! Guess what? Dr. Ojo's tribe/religion wasn't an issue; only his competence mattered. Nigerians Think!

It was Dr. Tayo Ojo, a neurosurgeon here in Nigeria that did the surgery. So many people begged me to leave the country and get the surgery done but something kept me back here because I still had trust in us.
We just need more investment in our health sector.

Found a couple of children hanging outside a school- they were sent out of class for not paying their school fees. I took them back in and paid for all of them.
I used to be that kid 15 years ago😊

Apostle Suleman escaped that assassination attempt only because he was in a bulletproof car. Let's not start any theatrics about "Blood of Jesus" or anything. The crux of the issue is that lives were lost. Those people had families. When will insecurity end? That is the question.

We shall never forget the billions of dollars sunk into the refineries under the pretext of TAMs that never was. Those who benefitted the highest from the rot cry the loudest today.
