Thank you @SenMarkey for introducing the Slash the Pentagon Act: congress.gov/bill/119th-cong… Trump is using Pentagon funding to wage an illegal and destructive war against Iran that the American people never asked for and don't want. Meanwhile, the Pentagon has never passed an audit and wastes billions of dollars a year on contractor abuse and overpriced projects that never deliver as promised. The Pentagon budget already ballooned to $900 billion last year. Now Trump wants to increase it to $1.5 trillion. Sen @EdMarkey's bill would explicitly protect soldiers' salaries, healthcare, and other needs, while cutting the Pentagon budget down to $750 billion. We need to rightsize the Pentagon and invest the difference back into the people's needs: climate action, healthcare, education, food, housing, and more. Thank you Senator for your principled leadership.
