A proud moment for Balochistan. Welcomed the delegation of German firm AOCH GmbH to Gadani as they announced a historic $50M investment, the largest in the city’s history. This milestone will create jobs, boost infrastructure and introduce vital environmental safeguards for our coastline. Grateful to support this transformative step for our people.
Yesterday, I raised my Privilege Motion before the Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges regarding the alleged misconduct of ASF officials during the check-in for EK-601.
Let it be clear, no public official is above the law, accountability, or respect for Parliament and its Members. Such conduct cannot be ignored or tolerated.
I will continue to pursue this matter until accountability is ensured and the dignity of every citizen is upheld.
Justice cannot be built on unanswered questions. Truth cannot be buried behind institutional silence.
The Judicial Commission’s findings in the Mir Raza case have raised serious concerns about the handling of the investigation and placed accountability at the center of the matter.
Credit must be given to @MuradAliShahPPP and the @SindhGovt1 for taking a clear step toward transparency by making the Commission’s report public, ensuring it is shared with the family, and establishing a mechanism to oversee implementation of its recommendations, But transparency is only the beginning.
The recommendations must now be implemented without delay. Every failure must be examined. Anyone found responsible for negligence or wrongdoing must be held accountable, regardless of position or influence.
For Mir Raza’s family, this is not a report. It is their demand for truth, dignity, and justice. Transparency must lead to accountability. Accountability must lead to justice.

In today’s joint meeting of the Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights and the Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services, the National Population Coordination and Reproductive Health Bill, 2026 was passed.
The legislation takes an important step toward strengthening national coordination, improving healthcare access and promoting informed choices, dignity and well-being for women, children and families.
A meaningful step toward a healthier, more informed and sustainable Pakistan.
How Long Must Women and Children Suffer?
A 13-year-old girl has allegedly lost her life in Mianwali after being confronted over leaving home without a hijab.
How long will women and children continue to suffer under the idea that someone else has the right to control how they dress, where they go and how they live? A woman is not someone’s property.
A child is not anyone’s “honour.”
Every woman and every child has the right to live with dignity, safety, freedom, and the ability to make choices about their own lives. No tradition, belief or so-called honour can ever be greater than a human life. Our daughters deserve a future, not fear.
In today’s Senate proceedings, I reaffirmed my commitment to advancing legislation focused on public welfare, consumer rights, food safety and human dignity. The discussion included three important legislative initiatives that I have moved at different stages: the Islamabad Consumers Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Islamabad Capital Territory Food Safety (Amendment) Bill, 2025, and the Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026. These legislative efforts reflect our continued resolve to strengthen legal protections, safeguard public interests and promote a more accountable and rights based system for the people of Pakistan.
I am deeply heartbroken and saddened by the tragic school roof collapse in Peshawar that claimed the precious lives of innocent children and teachers while leaving many others injured.
My deepest condolences go to the parents and families who have lost their loved ones. No parent should ever have to bury their child. May Allah Almighty grant the departed souls the highest ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give their families sabr and strength. I pray for the swift and complete recovery of all those injured.
A thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation must be conducted immediately. Those responsible for negligence must not be allowed to escape accountability. Responsibility must be established and appropriate legal action must be taken against anyone whose negligence contributed to this tragedy.
From the Lahore tuition centre collapse, to the PIMS tragedy, and now Peshawar, how many more innocent children must die before meaningful action is taken? How many more grieving parents must we see before the safety of our children becomes a true priority?
Our children are our future. Their lives cannot be sacrificed to negligence, inaction, or weak safety standards. Condolences are not enough, we demand accountability, responsibility, and immediate action.
The decision by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) to make 2D barcoding and serialization mandatory for locally manufactured and imported pharmaceutical products is a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan’s healthcare system. This initiative will enhance traceability across the pharmaceutical supply chain, help combat counterfeit and substandard medicines, and improve accountability from manufacturers to patients.
It is about time that the Ministry of Health took serious and effective action against fake and counterfeit drugs and strengthened mechanisms to protect patients.
I commend DRAP for taking this significant step toward strengthening medicine safety, transparency and accountability across Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector. However, effective enforcement, regular monitoring and strict action against violations will be essential to ensure that this system delivers its intended results. The safety of patients must remain our highest priority.
A Commendable Step for Education and Merit
Sindh has taken a commendable and much needed step by becoming Pakistan’s first province to link all educational boards with NADRA, strengthening the verification of academic records.
This landmark initiative will help combat fake degrees, prevent proxy examinations, and improve the credibility of educational certificates across the province.
I appreciate the Sindh Government, the Education Department, NADRA, and all relevant educational boards for taking this important initiative toward greater transparency, accountability, and merit.
Such reforms deserve recognition and should serve as a model for other provinces to follow.

Deeply saddened and heartbroken by the tragic crash of the Pakistan Army Aviation Mushshak aircraft near Nawan Killi, Quetta.
We mourn the Shahadat of Major Husnain Shehzad Humayun and Captain Abdul Samad, two brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Their courage, service, and sacrifice for Pakistan will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences and prayers are with their grieving families. May Allah grant our martyrs the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give their loved ones strength and patience. Ameen.
The situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demands seriousness, responsibility, and unity. The imposition of Emergency and Governor’s Rule under Articles 232 and 234 is an extraordinary constitutional step taken amid grave security and law and order concerns. At this critical juncture, Pakistan’s national interest must come before political confrontation. The protection of citizens, the security of the province, constitutional stability, and the fight against terrorism cannot be compromised.
All institutions and political stakeholders must act responsibly and within the Constitution. KP’s people deserve peace, security, effective governance, and protection, not further instability.
Pakistan must stand united against terrorism, violence, and every threat to the lives and property of its citizens.
Laiba Aijaz was a talented, gold medallist student with dreams of building a better future. Her tragic death must demand answers, accountability and action.
The government must investigate every angle, the alleged fraud, the internal circumstances, the people involved, and every failure that may have contributed to this tragedy.
We cannot keep allowing serious crimes; fraud, rape, sexual assault and murder, to disappear behind delays, influence and legal loopholes. If someone is found guilty, they must face the law, regardless of their connections or status.
And our government must remember, our internal problems matter too. Protecting our citizens, students and families is just as important as addressing external issues.
Students like Laiba are Pakistan’s greatest assets. Their talent should be protected, encouraged and given opportunities, not exploited.
Laiba deserves justice. Her family deserves answers And Pakistan’s students deserve a safer system.
Investigate. Account. Punish. Reform.
Reuters Must Present Evidence, Not Taliban Propaganda
Reuters has repeated the Taliban regime’s claim that individuals killed or apprehended in Kunar and Nuristan were Pakistani infiltrators. But where is the evidence? The Taliban regime’s own images and narrative appear to identify these individuals as Afghans. If any were Pakistani nationals, their identities and nationality should be independently verified and presented.
The photographs also raise serious questions about the circumstances in which these people were apprehended or killed. At the very least, those circumstances require independent investigation, not assumptions.
Pakistan has repeatedly presented evidence of militant groups operating from Afghan territory and has suffered a devastating human cost from cross-border terrorism. Yet similar evidence and the suffering of Pakistani civilians and security personnel often receive far less attention.
A Taliban allegation is not evidence.
If Reuters wants to implicate Pakistan, it should show the evidence, verify the identities and give Pakistan’s position equal scrutiny. Journalism must verify claims, not simply amplify them.
The reported abduction of 18 innocent workers from a road construction camp in Nana Sahib Ziarat, Duki, allegedly by the BLA, is deeply heartbreaking and utterly condemnable. These were labourers trying to earn a living and build a better future, not combatants. One security guard reportedly gave his life while defending the camp, while another was seriously injured.
How can we accept a reality where workers building roads for Balochistan are themselves unsafe? Targeting hardworking labourers is an attack on humanity, livelihoods and the province’s development.
This brutal attack must not be allowed to disappear into silence. The abducted workers must be recovered immediately and safely, those responsible must be arrested and prosecuted, and a transparent investigation must determine how such a large scale abduction was allowed to happen. Every innocent worker deserves protection. Every life lost demands accountability.
Balochistan needs roads, jobs, peace and opportunity, not bloodshed, fear and the kidnapping of its hardworking people.
The killing of an innocent daughter by her own mother in Peshawar is not merely a murder, it is a heartbreaking death of humanity, compassion, and every value that should protect a child. When a mother’s hands become the reason her own child is silenced forever, we must ask, how far have we fallen as a society?
No ego, no so-called honour, no outdated tradition, and no personal grievance can ever be greater than a child’s right to live. A child is not a possession and “honour” can never be built upon the blood of the innocent. Those responsible must face the full force of the law and this tragedy must not be reduced to another headline that society forgets tomorrow.
A daughter’s life is not a matter of honour, it is a human life. And every human life deserves protection, dignity and justice.

How Many More Warnings Do We Need?
How long will we keep watching these incidents happen before someone takes responsibility? PIMS Islamabad, Lahore General Hospital, serious fire safety concerns at NICH Karachi, and now another fire at the Children’s Hospital Lahore, the pattern is deeply concerning. PIMS should have been an awakening call. The loss of newborn lives should have been enough to force authorities to examine every hospital’s fire safety, electrical systems, emergency exits, alarms and evacuation procedures. Yet we continue to see incidents. Who is going to take accountability? How many more patients, newborns, doctors and healthcare workers have to be put at risk before preventive action is taken? Are we going to wait for another tragedy before we wake up again? Hospitals are meant to save lives, not become places where people fear for their lives. Negligence cannot be allowed to become the norm and accountability cannot begin only after another life is lost. We need action before the next tragedy, not statements after it.
I have moved a bill in the Senate Standing Committee on Science & Technology to restrict the availability of carbonated and energy drinks in schools. These drinks are not harmless refreshments. Their excessive sugar and caffeine can seriously damage children’s health, increasing the risk of diabetes, heart complications, kidney problems and addiction. We cannot expose our children to these risks at such a young age. Their health must come before commercial interests.

15 newborn lives were lost at PIMS. This cannot be allowed to pass without accountability.
What happened was a grave failure of care and responsibility. Yet there is still no FIR against those responsible.
An immediate FIR, a transparent investigation, and criminal accountability for those found responsible are essential.
15 innocent lives deserve justice. Silence and inaction are not accountability.
