Any react-based repo bigger than a TODO list is virtually unreadable. Want to add a new button? SIMPLE! Just add these 7 files and follow this repos flavor of functional programming. Also use the word context as much as possible. Web is supposed to be easy and now it's just not

I have a domain name on GoDaddy. I want to forward that domain. Domain forwarding is a basic feature. I’ve been told three times now in no uncertain terms: I cannot do this unless I use GoDaddy hosting. Just a heads up!

before I get well-actually-ied, I'm not saying that you should ditch everything and go back to jQuery. Use the tech you already know to build amazing products that will help people.

"There's open disdain for CSS and HTML which make websites possible... ...This attitude has lead to a sole preference for JavaScript, which has created a brittle, slow, and inaccessible web that is failing to serve the public the way it should." jeremy.codes/blog/defining-p…

No longer need those text-decoration hacks now that we have a load of new properties in CSS like: text-underline-offset text-decoration-thickness text-decoration-style text-decoration-line

That depressing realization that the thing you're slogging through in a modern JS framework could have taken you 10 minutes in jQuery.

"I'm a frontend developer who can learn any is framework with a bit of time..." HR: "Lulz sry we out here only hiring REACT Devs yo!" "Umm, well, what is react?" "It's the tech we use brah!" "Yeah, what is that tech, though?" "It's react!!, what is ur shit all dumb?" "Kay"
The more I build accessible UI elements the more I witness how friggin powerful semantic HTML is. Sure, I already knew how important it is but seriously accessibility is one of those things that make it SHINE! Writing proper HTML+CSS certainly is a very powerful job of its own.

When it comes to any tooling: Use whatever does what you want with the least trouble and time spent. That's it. That's all that matters. Don't worry about what "everyone else" does. "Everyone" doesn't do anything. People are different. Do you. #DevDiscuss
Time for #DevDiscuss Tonight's topic is: CLI tools and tricks - Are you a consistent user of CLI tools or do you tend to opt for GUIs? - What CLI tip for productivity or fun do you have for the community? - What are your go-to CLI tools? Let's chat!

There was an option 3: don't decompose your application's dependency graph into thousands of packages. People who argued that position were dismissed as (to paraphrase heavily) old and slow. That ship has sailed, and now we're here.
