Dominican Republic president gives an update about border operations.
@Kirikounews
Exactly. 🇸🇻 Doesn't kiss and tell until the party is over.

@nytimes Hits and misses.
Kindly correct your story.
The remains are not from the 4 Salvadoran Air Force servicemen.
The @nytimes circulated an unconfirmed report about the 4 charred bodies found and sent to autopsy.
President @nayibbukele is stating THE REMAINS ARE NOT from the four Salvadorans.

Reports of MQ-9s from CSL Comalapa being deployed in Haiti is unlikely. Equipment from Roosevelt Rd in PR 🇵🇷 makes far more sense.
The assets have been stationed in both bases for Cartel Boat operations for a couple of years.
Dominican Republic shares a border with Haiti. They are obviously deploying reinforcements to guard border.
The Salvadoran 🇸🇻 operation is not starting from scratch. This is an escalation from a few thousand regular military personnel from El Salvador and 5 other members of the GSF providing police and infrastructure assistance in Haiti 🇭🇹 to deploying a sizable contingent of Special Forces Operators to rescue 4 of their citizens.
For all the folks new to this, Haiti has been in the situation it's in for years. The Gang Suppression Force has uniformed forces from:
• Bangladesh (Bangladesh Army)
• Chad (Chadian National Army)
• El Salvador (Air Force / Special Forces)
• Guatemala (Guatemalan Army)
• Jamaica (Jamaica Defence Force / Constabulary Force)
• Sri Lanka (Army)
With logistical and intelligence help from the United States government and various military contractors.
The Salvadorean operation is not starting from scratch. This is an escalation from a few thousand regular military personnel from El Salvador providing police and infrastructure assistance to deploying a sizable contingent of Special Forces Operators to rescue 4 of their citizens.
Relevant.
The leader of the Haitian gang 400 MAWOZO Wilson Joseph, alias "Lanmo San Jou," sends a message to the president of El Salvador, @nayibbukele .
Video 1: "Bukele, I hear you talking. I hear you threatening us. But let me tell you something: you are in El Salvador, and we are in Haiti. Haiti is not El Salvador. You think you can just come here with your soldiers and clean us out the way you did with the gangs in your country? Come on then, try it. Look at what we have here. Look at this arsenal. We are not afraid of you, and we are not afraid of your military. If you step foot in our territory, we are ready for you. You are talking to Lanmo San Jou. We rule here, and your threats mean nothing to us. If you want your men back, you will have to deal with us on our terms, not yours."
Video 2: "Bukele, I am speaking directly to you. I see you talking on the internet, threatening us and making grand statements because you think Haiti is El Salvador.
Look at what we have here. Look at these buckets, look at these trays. This is all heavy ammunition, and we have the automatic rifles to match them. We aren’t running away. I have nowhere to go, and I am not hiding from you.
If you think your soldiers are just going to walk in here and take over, come try it. We are standing our ground right here. We are waiting for you, and we are fully prepared to fight you and your troops."

The R80 Colt Monitor is one of the rarest firearms on the planet.
It is perfectly reasonable to wonder how 1 of 125, FBI owned, never exported, UNICORNS ended up in the hands of a Haitian druglord in the year of our lord 2026.
Go back to reddit, you insufferable fucking dork.
Guncopop people not understanding poor countries using the same gun they bought 100 years ago
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The firearm shown is a Colt R80 Monitor, a rare 1930s law enforcement variant of the BAR of which Colt produced only about 125 examples primarily for US agencies like the FBI, not typical surplus.

Le président du Salvador @nayibbukele passe de la parole aux actes des véhicules blindés tactiques Yagu, utilisés par les forces armées salvadoriennes, arrivent en Haïti à bord d'un avion américain C-130J Super Hercules

More about the vehicles.
Yagus are based on Arctic Wildcats with armor.
El Salvador purchased and received them some years ago.
The vehicle is designed to behave like an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) but offers its crew of three persons the all-around 360 ballistic protection at a level of B6+ (similar to STANAG 4569 Level II) effective against 5.56X45, 7.62X39 and 7.62×51 threats.
A detail often forgotten by the American public: "El Salvador Special Forces fought missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, and the fight against gangs. The Special Forces of El Salvador 🇸🇻 represent experience, discipline, and courage. A small country with highly trained elite operators. The mission Haiti 🇭🇹 "
Salvadoreans hitched rides from USAF.

I've been continuing to learn, a lot more information out today including some good sources. The gangs specifically picked four guys from El Salvador who were supporting the UN forces & ambushed their armored car, setting off a ferocious firefight with El Salvador helicopters.

Three charter flights from Washington, DC to Haiti today — two already in the air. Another three flights from El Salvador — including one that is likely a US Air Force plane. Yesterday, @Jacquiecharles confirmed Salvadoran special forces had begun arriving, and more were on the way.

The interesting ratio is 30 to 1. The 3k Haitians are gang members, not paramilitary or military. The 100 El Salvadorans are elite military, the best they have. The other question is the ROE. Did Bukele authorize his troops to shoot to kill as they deem necessary on the spot?
