My sons Sulaiman & @kasim_khan_1999 applied for visas in January (againβ¦ ) to allow them to visit their father @ImranKhanPTI in Pakistan. The Pakistan consulate states that online visa processing normally takes 7β10 working days. It has now been 60 days. This despite the public promise that they could safely travel there to see their father after 4 years, made by both Defence Minister @khawajaMAsif to @mehdirhasan & PM spokesperson @mosharrafzaidi to @SkyYaldaHakim
Meanwhile, they are not allowed to speak to him on the phone, nor send him a letter. They havenβt seen him since 2022 after he was shot in an assassination attempt.
This is an appeal directly to Pakisanβs PM @CMShehbaz to please allow Imran Khanβs two sons to see their father asap, particularly since, by all accounts, his health is in decline.

Just like Charles Kennedy in 2023, @EdwardJDavey & the @LibDems are taking the right & principled position to oppose the illegal actions of @realDonaldTrump in attacking Iran, I do not like the government of Iran but that those not give the US & Isreal the right to attack them.
Back in 2003, Charles Kennedy, then leader of the Liberal Democrats stood against the US/UK war in Iraq. He initially faced intense vilification and ridicule for opposing the 2003 Iraq war, yet was later vindicated by the Chilcot Report. As the only major UK party leader opposing the invasion, he was heckled in Parliament, and The Sun called him a "spineless reptile" and a "snake" for his stance.Β But history now judges him well. We forget the lessons of history at our own peril.

Talks to address Iranβs nuclear program were planned for Sunday. Instead Netanyahu launched illegal strikes on Iran, killing a top ceasefire negotiator, undermining U.S. diplomatic efforts & putting countless innocent lives at risk. We canβt be dragged into another Netanyahu war.

βFirst and foremost, you must not lose hope.
I will never accept this dictatorship, and I am prepared to remain in a prison cell for as long as it takes in the struggle against this tyranny. I will not compromise on my principles or the fight for the true freedom of the nation.
Our commitment is to real freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. We will fight until the last ball to achieve this. I will not strike any deals and will face all the baseless cases against me.
Once again, I urge the nation to read the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report. The history of 1971 is being repeated in Pakistan. Yahya Khan destroyed the country, and today, the dictator is doing the same to protect his dictatorship and personal gains, pushing the country to the brink of destruction.
Following the dark verdict in the Al-Qadir Trust case, the judiciary has further eroded its credibility. Judges who support tyranny and act on directives are rewarded. The judges nominated for the Islamabad High Court have only one qualification: delivering rulings against me.
This case should have been against Nawaz Sharif and his son, who sold their 9-billion-rupee property in the UK to Malik Riaz for 18 billion rupees. The question should be, where did they get the 9 billion rupees? The receipts demanded from them in the Panama case have never been produced. Alongside Qazi Faez Isa, they had billions of rupees in money laundering pardoned in the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case.
The Al-Qadir University, like Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Namal University, is a free charitable institution for the public, where students were being educated about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Neither I nor Bushra Bibi gained a single penny from the Al-Qadir University, nor did the government incur any loss.
Even the land of the Al-Qadir Trust has been taken back, which will only harm the underprivileged students who were studying about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The outcome of the Al-Qadir Trust case was known to everyone beforehand. Whether it was the delay in the verdict or the discussions regarding punishment, everything was leaked to the media in advance. Such mockery has never been witnessed in the history of the judiciary. The same person who dictated the verdict to the judge also leaked it to the media.
My wife is a homemaker with no connection to politics. Bushra Bibi was punished solely to cause me pain and exert pressure on me. She has previously been implicated in baseless cases but has always faced them as a test from Allah and remained steadfast in supporting my cause.
If there is no progress in the negotiations regarding the establishment of a judicial commission for the events of May 9 (2023), and November 26 (2024) then continuing the talks would be pointless. Dishonest individuals never allow neutral umpires to intervene. The government is avoiding the demand for a judicial commission because it is dishonest.β -

I remain deeply concerned about the ongoing detention of Imran Khan.
His disgraceful treatment is an affront to the democratic rights of the people of Pakistan.
We must continue to speak up for the release of all political prisoners everywhere.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khanβs informal chat with representatives of media and his lawyers - December 3, 2024:
I was informed about the full details of the Islamabad Massacre today by my family, how our peaceful protesters were directly shot and dozens of unarmed citizens who spoke up for the constitution and rule of law were martyred while hundreds were injured. Details of 12 martyrs have so far been revealed.
This brutality marks one of the darkest chapters in Pakistanβs history. Itβs as if Yahya Khan part two has taken over the country.
I demand that the Supreme Court form an impartial judicial commission to investigate the massacre of unarmed, peaceful civilians and to give the harshest punishment to those who ordered the massacre and those involved in carrying it out.
I am further consulting on this matter and collecting details. We will not leave this matter unaddressed. If anyone thinks that the people will remain silent because of the fear being created, then they are deluded. We will raise our voices against this atrocity on all international forums. I have directed the PTI leadership to file FIRs against those responsible, including Shahbaz Sharif and Mohsin Naqvi. In which country of the world is such direct fire opened on democratic protests?
Data about the martyrs and the injured from hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi should be made public at the earliest, and CCTV footage from all hospitals as well as from Safe City should be preserved so that evidence cannot be erased like it was on May 9 (2023).
I have instructed my party as well as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take responsibility for the care and welfare of the families of those martyred as well as those injured, and to make every effort for the recovery of those who are missing; and to lend encouragement and support the legal teams pursuing the cases of those arrested.
As far as whether the operation was a success or a failure, armed operations are always successful. The Lal Masjid operation was also successful, Yahya Khan also led a successful operation, but a month later the country was divided into two. The bloodbath that took place in Islamabad will have a long-lasting effect.
I had instructed Bushra Bibi to take the demonstration to Islamabad under any circumstances, and she did what I had instructed her to.
All office bearers and workers of PTI should unite and organize themselves to prepare for the next phase of our struggle for liberation from the mafia that has imposed itself on the country - this is not politics but a struggle for genuine democracy, rule of law and sovereignty.

Pakistanβs brutal crackdown on protesters is a grave violation of human rights: mass arrests, communication blackouts & alarming reports of unlawful force, including fatalities.

I just spent several days with @richardbranson and @sufisal (Dr. Salman Ahmed) discussing the dangerous detention of former PM @ImranKhanPTI in Pakistan. As a physician and friend of Pakistan, I have watched with pain and sadness at his deterioriting health status while a prisoner in round the clock solitary confinement. To make it worse, he has not been allowed reasonable visits from his own physician. His health status alone demands an immediate release to hospital or other good medical care before it is too late. What happened to Alexei Navalny in Russia's gulag cannot be allowed to happen to @ImranKhanPTI .
It's not cricket. @ImranKhanPTI should be released immediately by Pakistanβs authorities. His arbitrary detention casts a dark shadow on respect for democracy and rule of law in Pakistan: time.com/7093750/pakistan-imβ¦
