If you believe it is wrong to sell prayer, but permissible to sell biblical instruction—words taught by the Spirit (1 Cor. 2:12–13)—what distinguishes the two?

Proverbs 6:10–11—A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and need like a bandit.

Some artists create as a demonstration of skill: painting on an upside down canvas, strumming a guitar with one’s feet, etc. All that is well and good but must all art be performance art? What’s wrong with the goal being the actual completed work?
Sundry thoughts for visual artists in the age of artificial intelligence (for what they're worth). 1. You will be accused of using AI--get used to it. (This will most likely come from people who are ideologically opposed to you, or use AI themselves, or are envious--probably all the above.) 2. You should develop a new style--something to distinguish your work from the herd. (If your stuff looks like it could have been produced by Pixar, or Disney, or Studio Ghibli, you will be accused of using AI--count on it.) 3. Develop your first draft using traditional media and save your work. (Document, document, document--have something in hand that shows the creative process, stray lines and all. Anything that looks too smooth will be subject to the accusation, "That's AI!")

Entirely true. It's the second-rate programmers that are having trouble adapting to AI, and screaming about it. The A-list guys are delighted. Listen to Linus Torvalds. Or DHH. Or, a little outside my usual community, Uncle Bob Martin. We can get so much more done now!
I agree with everything OP says except "watching all of those years go down the drain." AI might have made it almost meaningless to write code by hand anymore. But the people who have spent years/decades writing code are now in the best position to leverage AI coding tools. Learning to code was a stepping stone toward learning to decompose and solve complex problems. I have worked with a lot of different people with different levels of coding experience. And I can say with confidence that, in general, the more coding experience you have, the better you're positioned to think about long-horizon tasks and to organize and tackle problems with multiple moving parts. All those skills directly translate to using AI coding agents. And I'm seeing it happen in real time. People with long software engineering experience have a totally different way of using AI coding agents (given that they set their ego aside and accept that this is the new norm). They are more organized, know how to steer the agent like guiding an intern or mentoring a junior dev. People who don't have coding experience are using agents in a random and chaotic way (the approach has its outside-the-box-thinking merits but doesn't have the same reliability as the experienced SWE approach).

I often pointed out that sleep needs are one of the least anticipated differences between men and women that folks only discover after getting married.
Replying to @pnwguerrilla
I wasn't prepared for that when I got married. I had no I idea that women could go to bed an hour before you, wake up an hour after you, and still be more tired than you. I just accept it now.

Hey I’d like to report $40T of fraud by the American government!
BREAKING: President Trump reveals his new anti-fraud program set up to reward people who expose fraud with a 1% commission on the money uncovered. "If you turn somebody in and you, let's say report and you find $1 billion, we are giving a commission to that person of 1%."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
DOJ's published guidance caps individual whistleblower rewards at up to $30,000 per tip, not an uncapped 1% of fraud uncovered, with a total program fund of $25 million. A $1 billion fraud tip would not yield a $10 million payout under the official program rules. newsweek.com/trump-vance-of… foxnews.com/politics/trump…

I cannot stress this enough: what lesson is she supposed to learn exactly? In reality, the fact that she instinctually cares about the wellbeing of those perceived as societally downtrodden (including a lot of potent propaganda she no doubt receives on the daily re: the "suffering families") is actually a positive sign for her intact femininity. The issue here is that she should be at home taking care of a husband and children while planning which homemade desert she will bring to the next church potluck, not managing a store and being involved in politics. "The right" needs to figure out what women actually are, and are meant for, instead of treating them like defective men.
For everyone who said “women will finally learn their lesson” - no. No, they won’t.

Pragmatic hangups and offense at seeing heroes implicated can only last for so long. At some point, folks are going to have to wrestle with the historical doctrine of simony. We have a millenium of clear teaching on the matter.
“Therefore, since they are teachers of the word of God, it is not lawful for them to teach for a reward, lest they be found sellers of the word of God.” — Geoffrey of Poitiers

I’m with Schiff on this one. It’s a shame that the GOP resists efforts to abolish government-funded schools. – at Sunnyvale, CA
A teenager used a gun to murder innocent children. An educator died in a job that should not be life threatening. And yet the GOP majority will again resist any meaningful effort to stop the next school shooting. This is the reality of the current Congress. And it’s heartbreaking.

In a stunning move everyone saw coming, London Lyceum sides with the woke in a controversy driven by the woke to corrupt something that had been going well.
"What is Happening in the Biblical Counseling Movement?" is now out. thelondonlyceum.com/what-is-… Personally, I think it is important to know that I took little pleasure in writing this article. This article is dedicated to all those whose lives have been overturned, ministries that have been crippled, and the families that have had to start over because of the madness that has defined the biblical counseling movement over the past several years. If that is you, I am sorry.
