It's been a while since we've seen something new coming out of the JDME shipyard, but now they are reconfiguring a target vessel to carry a superstructure nearly identical to the U.S. Arleigh Burke Class, Japan's Atago and Maya Classes, and South Korea's Sejong the Great Class.
Satellite imagery shows a multifunctional target vessel, used by the Chinese Navy in destructive weapons tests, outfitted with a likely replica of an Arleigh Burke style Aegis Destroyer superstructure. bit.ly/2oeCGCj Sign up for our Spotlights bit.ly/49i9vEs

This use of small commercial vessels as beach landing craft in a first wave of amphibious assaults gives China a massive capacity to overwhelm defenses. Each annual training cycle keeps unveiling more threatening aspects of China's amphibious capability development efforts.
Planet imagery on 25 August 2026 shows Chinese commercial deck cargo ships engaged in a beach landing exercise at Hainan Island in the South China Sea. bit.ly/2oeCGCj Gain the advantage of insight and sign up for our Spotlights bit.ly/49i9vEs #GEOINT #China

Wondering what @stick631 would make of the top down view of the scene in satellite imagery 🤔 Thoroughly destructive.

We previously published a longer report on the obscure Chinese shipyard that produces and maintains the "Blue Force Fleet" that provides advanced capabilities to simulate US and allied warships in missile test programs and military exercises. xitter.cf/AllSourceA/status/1998…
AllSource has identified and assessed the JDME Shipyard in Taixing City, China to be a critical component in the development of Chinese naval simulation technology supporting weapons development programs. Key findings and full report: allsourceanalysis.com/featur… #GEOINT #China

China appears to be readying their "mini-carrier" test vessel, along with other test vessels, for a possible weapons test or training exercise. The vessel had an array of radar reflectors installed across its deck to simulate adversarial vessels.
GEOINT analysis on 01 April 2026 shows a maritime test platform resembling a small aircraft carrier docked at a PLAN base in Huludao, China. bit.ly/2oeCGCj Spotlight Report - Critical intelligence delivered to your inbox. bit.ly/49i9vEs #GEOINT #China
