Just an ordinary guy observing the simple things in life that make the difference, make us human, and make us happy.

Watching the streets of life.

My dad once said to me, 'Don't go where everyone else is going because it's popular. Go where you want to go because it matters to you and no-one else'.

I woke up this Sunday with a yearning to be by the sea sitting on a bench and watching the waves. Dunno why today, just feeling like I wanted to get away from it all to somewhere I can be alone and untroubled.

If the world is getting a little too much may I recommend the inexplicably obsolete word ‘latibulating’, from the 17th century? To latibulate is to find a cosy corner somewhere and hide in it.

Today I just wish and pray there is one person less in pain, one person less in sickness, one person less in poverty, one person less in hunger, and one person less scared for their life and future. And every moment of that day one more person happier, healthier, and safe. ❤️🫶

How classy are older people? Driving through my home town high street after work and saw two elderly couples going into a restaurant dressed as smart as possible. And I see many in the town shopping looking chic and neat. A generation who always did that in public and still are.

I often think if I was to write an autobiography on my life what I would call it, what the theme would be. My life hasn't been kind for a long time so I've finally decided it would be a poignant book called, 'The Life That Never Happened'. What about yours?

In the last few weeks since I started my account I've had messages from people on how to grow my account and make money by posting all the time and commenting everywhere. Amazing how they assume that's what everyone wants to do. Not me, I'm happy just posting my simple obs daily.

when you step back and look we are all just caught up in some game played by a small number of people. Whether that's chess, Dare, or Monopoly, we are their pawns, pieces, and playthings. They set the rules and then roll the dice. And we get the results especially when they lose.

Of all the things we value we rarely value the people we laugh with enough. Keep those people close. Spend time with them. Enjoy them, appreciate them. And laugh our heads off with them. If there are angels it's these that make us smile all the time and make life worth living.

Sitting in the garden with a glass of wine as the sun is slowly slipping away for the day. The noise of the day fades away as a quiet hum of calm descends. Simple bliss, costs nothing, worth its weight in gold. Life can be this wonderful.

Our senses are under attack every single day. From unceasing adverts to the sheer noise and speed of life, they are assaulted on a daily basis. Where humans once used to avoid dinosaurs, now we must hold back the constant in-our-face onslaught of modern life from consuming us.

The most powerful way to detox your body isn't drinking green juices or doing 36 hour fasts. It's getting 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
