Ok lads: imagine you aren’t horny at all. Not even slightly. You’re busy fixing a shelf or ironing your suit or watching your favourite TV show. Zero sexy feelings. This apology absolutely skirts around the points being made by us. Trying to Frame this as an internal approval issue completely sidesteps the big question, why was this particular creator being given these benefits in the first place?? what was the reason that led to the decision? Trying to say the correct approvals weren't obtained doesn't really address any of the concerns people have nor does it explain WHY those concerns were initially dismissed (YOU EVEN SAID SO IN THIS APOLOGY) Accountability means addressing the decision itself and not just the process surrounding it. You also reference your "core values" without defining what those are or how any of this contradicts them? If these values are so important to Dead by Daylight enough to invoke an apology with that included then surely the community deserves to understand what they mean in practice! Values shouldn't just be a convenient phrase that is used to distance a company from individual conduct it should be something consistently demonstrated, which lacks in this entire situation. Threats and harassment towards employees are completely unacceptable and nobody should be subjected to that but it's important not to conflate that behaviour with actual criticism or use it to try and overshadow the concerns being raised. The community has EVERY right to question your decisions and expect answers. You acknowledge you've let people down but offer such little transparency and accountability or meaningful reassurance about what will change in the future. The community deserve an apology that dresses the issue itself and not just the fallout.

Ten million people have watched a comedian accidentally destroy the entire TED talk industry. He filmed the talk once at TEDxNewYork in 2014 and openly admitted he had nothing to say. Speaking coaches charge $5,000 to teach the exact tricks he used in 6 minutes to say nothing at all. His name is Will Stephen. He is a comedian from Late Night with Seth Meyers who was invited to give a real TED talk and used it to prove the format is a costume anyone can wear. Every TED speaker opens with a question, tells a personal story, cites a scientist, and shows a chart. Stephen did all four in six minutes with zero content. His entire formula fits on a napkin. Gesture with both hands. Ask the audience a question anyone can answer. Tell a mildly embarrassing story so they say aww. Point to a stranger on a slide and call them important. Flash a chart of random numbers. Wear glasses with no lenses. The audience will think you are brilliant. That last trick alone has probably cost the public speaking coaching industry a hundred million dollars in sessions clients should have skipped. "If you watched me on YouTube with the sound off, you would think I was a genius." That is Will Stephen on the TED stage, three minutes into the talk he was paid to give. He wasn't lying. Executives pay $15,000 for a keynote coach and still open with a joke the room never laughs at. Founders rehearse their pitch for weeks and still sound like Stephen at minute four, saying "wagga wah, gabba gabba" with authority. The talk is free on YouTube. The method is written across every TED speaker's playbook for ten years. Stephen still writes for Seth Meyers. Almost none of the ten million viewers have stopped nodding at empty slides since. The formula is free. The willingness to actually say something before your next keynote, pitch, or townhall is the entire edge.

People do dumb things. Kids do dumber things. Words of apology are a start. Actions of apology and true repentance are concrete. We were forgiven first and we are commanded to forgive in turn. Do not confuse forgive with forget though. I hope Isa Casahuga is truly sorry and carries improvement with her going forward. It's all one can hope for and it's how we get better as a society.
