I feel dirty defending RFK Jr... Fuck that guy.
BUT... It is a fact that Arabs under the yoke of Islam produce little knowledge or art. And not just Arabs. Anyone unfortunate enough to be born to an area where Islam rules suffers similarly.
Islam is cancer in ideological form.

This is Nagasaki in 2026. Imagine if they spent the past 80 years wallowing in self-pity and blaming the US? It's incredible what you can accomplish when you decide to pick yourself up, move forward, and take responsibility for your own outcomes.
But energy leads to prosperity, and misanthrope "greens" want people to suffer for the crime of being born. Environmental devastation is a small price to pay for keeping people in medieval filth and misery.
Unfortunately, you can completely clean up a river in Bali, and two weeks later it will be full of trash, because plastic is not the problem. The pollution is the problem, and the polluters are the problem. This is a cultural issue, an education issue, and an infrastructure issue.
I’ve been saying for years that we should build waste-to-energy plants in island places like Bali that don’t have a lot of land. It would solve two problems: it would get rid of the pollution, and it would provide energy. That sounds like a win-win to me!
I’m glad to hear that Bali has its first waste-to-energy plant under construction.
Sweep creepin' Quetzalcoatl, everyone in that department is out of their freakin' mind. I never heard so much retarded bullshit in my life. This must be what it's like working in the Whitehouse.
Canadians can rest easy knowing our government has rewarded the terrorists with over $500M in funding since Oct 7, 2023. They are also determined to import ever more of these same hate-filled lunatics to enrich Canadian society.

What makes someone debase themselves like this? Do they not realize this stink won't wash off? It's totally unnecessary. When your opponents are insane you only have to be normal.
I'm old enough to remember when the world was more dangerous. But I don't remember the free world ever so insane and dismissive of freedom.

“But Vietnam is governed by a Communist Party!”
That does not mean communism deserves the credit for its growing prosperity.
Starting in 1986, its reforms gave families more control over farming, allowed private businesses, and opened the economy to trade.
People could do more for themselves instead of waiting for the state.
The results belong in every conversation about socialism and poverty.
Look at the changes that helped people earn more, not just the name of the party in power.

If you listen to Trump, Russia seems overwhelmingly powerful. In reality, Russia is more like a failed state.
While Russian propaganda insists on strength, virtue, and civilizational mission, the reality is demographic collapse, social decay, an economy warped by war spending, and pervasive state violence. A Potemkin village slowly collapsing under the weight of its oppressive machinery and propaganda lies.

I'm working with guys from a different department this week... let's call it cultural exchange... and one of the guys, an old fucker, even older than me, was ranting about how he hates Dell computers because the Trump family owns the company...
I thought of arguing but fuck it.
People are obsessed with tearing down a tiny number of very wealthy people instead of lifting up the far larger numbers of poor.
Envy is ugly and counterproductive.
Notice what is said here:
"A country that ended slavery by paying the enslavers and leaving the enslaved with nothing does not get to claim the moral high ground"
is a retarded absolutist form of:
"A country that ended slavery... does not get to claim the moral high ground"
John Cleese pushed back on Lenny Henry's call for reparations with a familiar argument. Slavery existed for thousands of years, he said. The British did not start it. "On the contrary, they were the ones who stopped it" .
The second sentence is true. Britain abolished slavery in 1833. What Cleese leaves out is what happened next.
Britain did not just abolish slavery. It compensated the people who owned slaves. The government took out a £20 million loan—a sum worth billions today—and paid it to slave owners as compensation for the loss of their "property" . The enslaved received nothing. Not a pension. Not a plot of land. Not an apology.
The loan was not fully repaid until 2015 . That means British taxpayers, including the descendants of enslaved Africans, spent 180 years paying off a debt taken out to compensate the people who had owned their ancestors.
The research is specific. University College London found that half the £20 million stayed in Britain, distributed among 3,000 people. The other half went to planters in the colonies. In Jamaica, enslavers filed claims for 311,455 enslaved people and received £6.12 million. In Guyana, enslavers claimed for 84,074 Africans and received £4.28 million . The money built country houses, funded railways, and invested across the Empire. The descendants of those enslavers still benefit today.
Cleese is right that slavery is older than the British Empire. He is right that Britain was not the only perpetrator. But he is wrong to use abolition as a shield. A country that ended slavery by paying the enslavers and leaving the enslaved with nothing does not get to claim the moral high ground without accounting for the bill.
Lenny Henry's £19 trillion figure comes from the Brattle Group's 2023 report, which estimated the total harm of transatlantic chattel slavery across the Americas and the Caribbean . The number is contested. The history is not.

Putin will be just as happy with a far-left government in France as he will be with a far-right government.
He buys and supports both anti-democratic movements. Because democracy is the threat. Not the political parties that used to sustain it. Left/right is meaningless now.

Students supported Mao
Students supported Castro
Students supported Khomeini
Students supported Hitler
Students supported Mussolini
If find yourself blindly supporting every student lead movement, you’ll be wrong very often, in many eras, on many issues.
A good rule of history: if you find yourself opposing a student movement while siding with the ruling class, you're wrong. Every time, in every era, whatever the issue.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Student movements have not always been on the right side of history. Mao's student Red Guards persecuted hundreds of thousands. Students helped Castro and Khomeini rise to power, and Nazi student groups opposed the Weimar Republic.

Tell people you work for an NGO and they assume you’re helping the poor.
Say you own a business and they assume you’re just making money.
But look at how NGOs work in real life.
Take Dakar, in my home country of Senegal, where foreign aid workers have expensive apartments, new SUVs and household staff, all funded by donor countries’ taxpayers.
They even receive “hardship pay.”
With donor money behind them, these NGOs offer salaries that local businesses cannot match. Talented Africans who could be starting companies or helping local businesses grow end up working in the aid industry instead.
An entrepreneur in a competitive market has to care about what people need. You have to understand their problems and offer something that actually helps them. If you disappoint your customers, they can go to someone else.
Helping people through a business is doing good.
Your customers get something they need, and you get paid for providing it. The profit gives you a reason to keep improving what you offer and reach more people. Better jobs and rising incomes are how people escape poverty at scale.
We need far more respect for the entrepreneurs who make that possible, and far less willingness to assume an NGO is doing good just because it calls itself one.
