“Out here?”
Brosef, it’s not like the officials all live in South Bend. They’re ACC officials.
Miami coach Mario Cristobal was very unhappy about the way this play was officiated.
“Really disappointed that they negated Elija Lofton’s touchdown with two hands on the ball and two feet in bounds.
“But like we told the team before we left Miami, do not leave it in the hands of the officials because that’s what you’re going to get out here.” @On3

Notre Dame has talked about "next man up" this season but it appears that we've found where their depth at corner ends.
For now at least, Mark Zackery is getting dominated by every receiver he lines up against.
Not all his fault, he hasn't had a ton of playing time. But it's rough.

Barkate is absolutely owning Mark Zackery. Chris Ash is going to need to find something else to do, assuming Leonard Moore can't return

Despite that touchdown pass, Mensah is just 11 for 22 tonight for 125 yards. He has equaled his season high in incomplete passes.
This game could end up being a Heisman elimination game and at the moment, CJ Carr is not the one being eliminated.

It's worth pointing out Darian Mensah is 5-for-10 so far today. With five incompletions tonight, he's got more incompletions than he had in 4 games this season.
The most incompletions this season Mensah has had is 11 against FSU

Find someone who looks at you the way Marcus Freeman was looking at CJ Carr after that last touchdown throw

Two holding penalties against Notre Dame is giving Miami about one billion chances at the end zone.
Cannot do that in this kind of game.

Pretty obvious that Miami is definitely feeling the effect of no Malachi Toney. Notre Dame is bringing pressure and the Hurricanes receivers are not finding the space Toney always did.
Now Carr and the offense gotta find a way to go up two scores on this drive and start to seize momentum in a big way.

Notre Dame hadn’t even kicked off against Miami yet when Marcus Freeman’s staff started winning.
Two major 2028 prospects committed within roughly 15 minutes of each other — and the Irish may not be done this weekend.

Nick Saban didn’t dance around his criticism of CJ Carr after the BYU loss.
Notre Dame gets a massive chance against Miami to make sure Saban’s next comments sound very different.

Miami fans are understandably frustrated that Malachi Toney won’t play against Notre Dame.
Leonard Moore’s response was pretty simple: by November, nobody is 100% — including the Irish.

Notre Dame keeps hearing the same answer whenever anyone complains about how the CFP views its schedule: join a conference.
There’s one pretty big problem with that argument. The schedule might actually get easier.

Malachi Toney was reportedly trying to play through his ankle injury against Notre Dame.
Hours later, the outlook changed dramatically: Miami’s star receiver now likely needs surgery, and Saturday may be only the first game he misses.

James Criniti already had an FBS opportunity and his college plans figured out.
Then Notre Dame gave the local safety a chance to play for the school he’d dreamed about — and everything changed.
