The most valuable things the Ravens can do, other than try to sign Lamar (won’t happen before the offseason) is to learn about what they have in some guys (get reps to rookies) and see if they can pick up some draft capital.

Since getting into the league, Lamar has improved as a passer every year, showing a commitment to refining and growing his game. He doesn’t flop, and he doesn’t whine. He is a star and he’s probably the least accessible of all of the star QBs, by choice.

Most of Lamar’s injuries have come from the pocket, and a lot of them can be attributed to poor o-line play. It is intellectually dishonest to suggest that he’s checked out, runs too much, or is milking his injuries.

I think he could probably help himself a bit as far as speculation goes, but he certainly doesn’t have to. I also think Harbaugh more or less threw him under the bus with how he’s handled Lamar’s injuries (particularly the season ending with Snoop at Cincy).
