ALT A Tsunami Watch is in effect for the California coast, including all coastal regions in the Bay Area and Central Coast, due to an 8.7 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Kamchatka. People along the coast should stand by for further information. Estimated time of arrival is 12:15 AM on July 30 at Monterey and 12:40 AM on July 30 at San Francisco.

Thanks to the strong work by firefighters over the last 24 hours and favorable weather conditions, containment on the fire is now up to 40% at 1,207 acres. Crews continue to fortify control lines and will begin heavy mop-up operations inside the perimeter.

The #PointFire at Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road in northern Sonoma County is 1,190 acres & 20% contained. We have confirmed two residential structures have been destroyed and the damage inspection assessment continues.
