Why do so many UK tv programmes play American birdsong over outdoor scenes? Woodthrush perhaps an unknown breeder...

One month old Baitong has died. She was found tied to a tree in Thailand forest. Hunters had probably killed her mother and tied her to a tree to keep her from following. They tied her so tight her foot had be be amputated. Hunters suck. Trophy Hunting sucks. Ban #TrophyHunting

This is how wildlife is treated in the @peakdistrict National Park !!!
This badger was snared in 2017 in the @peakdistrict. After a long respite, during which wildlife recovered, we've been advised that snares have been put back on this site. Grid refs SK 20396 84978 & SK 20314 85114, opp Yorkshire Bridge Inn, Bamford. Please share widely. HIT.

We need a proper explanation from Natural England as to why, for example, it was necessary to kill 1,022 starlings.
The latest threat to British farmers? Apparently starlings are "a serious threat to livestock" according to Natural England who have issued licences to cull them. This trigger happy solution to kill any wildlife that dares to interact with us has to stop ow.ly/CtJV30ncOQK

Unfortunately, common sense and prevention were overruled by political maneuvering. We're saddened by this decision, and can only hope that the relevant authority does not authorise any veterinary drugs containing diclofenac. #banvetdiclofenac
OUTRAGEOUS, absolutely bloody outrageous - Barnacle Geese shot and then clubbed to death! - all licensed by @nature_scot @strathearnrose #NotFitForPurpose
Replying to @FerretScot
Here is a sort extract one of the videos showing geese being shot on Islay, obtained by Animal Concern Advice Line. Story here: theferret.scot/film-geese-sh…

This is ugly . But it provides unambiguous proof that illegal hunting continues in the UK and displays a wholesale disregard for our beleaguered wildlife . Please help to peacefully and democratically end this anachronistic savagery . It shames our nation and our species .
**WARNING. DISTRESSING IMAGES** Here is Jamie Whittles from Cheshire Hunt, caught red-handed kicking a just-slaughtered fox into the river. This holds a mirror to where our society sits. Absolutely heartbreaking. Please RT and support @CheshireSabs in stopping this brutality

Dead beaver floating in the Tay. Protecting them will not help. Those that kill will always conspire to do so. An ignorant settler mentality which views inconvenient creatures as vermin. While life ebbs from the planet this gurtal view must have no future. Education essential

The extermination of wolves in the 1700s resulted in too many deer. Now there are about about 400,000 red deer in Scotland. The landscape is over-grazed, devoid of any life. Reintroducing wolves would control the deer population and allow trees to grow #rewilding

National Trust memberships are being cancelled by people today disappointed at the fox-killing Portman Hunt being allowed to use @NTKingstonLacy. Why not join @N_T_S, @EnglishHeritage, @WoodlandTrust or @CanalRiverTrust instead? None of these allow hunting on their land.

The recent death of the illegally shot griffon vulture Perun is a sad symbol of the threat that Ulcinj Salina is under. This 1500 hectares saltpan area is a paradise in terms of biodiversity and is demands protection. Stand with us, and sign the petition #SaveSalina

I’m not the most vocal with anti-shooting rhetoric, but how anyone can drive to a pit, blast multiple Pochard out the sky and then leave three corpses and shotgun cartridges scattered about the place, I’ll never know. This can’t be acceptable practice @BASCnews? 25 Dec, S Lincs.
