Yes, Starlink has done more for Ukraine than any other private company. @elonmusk deserves credit for that. But he should also let it operate within the parameters of his own policy of self-defense.
Enable Starlink over Russia so Ukraine can target the mobile ballistic missile launchers being used to kill innocent civilians. That's a legitimate defensive mission. It's also exactly the kind of pressure Putin needs to feel if we're ever going to get a serious peace deal.

The path of American NEEEDS the entities making chips inside the USA to have their stock prices go up so they can sell expensive stock and do the thing that American NEEEEDS with that money from selling high value stock or taking high credit worthiness debt backed by the high stock price.
This is like war bonds in WW2. Normal citizens are taking a risk or investing at a lower return in order to invest in America and help it survive a hard economic time.
America is not in a good financial position and things we considered no nos 20 years ago may need to happen NOW like the government picking winners.
There is a great danger of corruption and if anyone is doing this for self gain that needs to be prosecuted.
But Elon doing the thing USA needs cannot avoid also getting that capital that he needs to pay for the facility and that raises his personal net worth.
BUT it is ABSOLUTELY the best path for USA and we need to ostracize the assholes who try and talk America out of existence by suggesting the companies trying to save our ass are the bad guys.
SpaceX is about 555 times cheaper with starship $90M per launch for 100tons ($900/kg) than SLS per kg launched which is currently $500,000/kg.
America ABSOLUTELY needs to pick the winner here and stop investing in the 555X more expensive option.
Elon's chip fab facility will nearly certainly also be a better buy than competitors. This is because what Elon does is run better engineering teams than anyone else and run them cheaper. Engineering is his product.
There will be need for companies in mining that do ALL of it. The government will need to pick who they give their money to. This makes them likely winners. There isn't another path right now.

Sometimes people at the VERY TOP of comedy (Seinfeld wether you like or not has made $100M in comedy) genuinely appreciate someone who is at the very bottom of comedy (Adam is a talk show host who could not survive on comedy as his profession if he wanted to).
people who do the doing often relate to others who do the doing even if those others are not particularly good at it ( I am not saying Adam is a bad talk show host, just bad comedian).
Also Adam's style is the same semantic style as Seinfeld. You could write a Seinfeld routine using that material and it would be a natural fit.
America needs this kind of nation state pragmatism.

Today, I announced the FCC will vote to authorize prisons to jam contraband cellphones for the first time ever.
Almost 500,000 inmates now have access to them and 25,000 phones are seized in jails annually.
Inmates are using them at exceptionally high rates to order hits, run drug operations, enable CSAM abuse of young kids, and many more awful acts.
We are now giving state and local prisons & jails a tool they’ve been denied for years.
Grateful for the chance to get this across the finish line.

It is GOP + sane democrats vs insane democrats.
