Ireland vs Britain 1932, Serbia vs Austria 1906. Italy vs France 1888. Canada vs USA 2026. Same movie every time: the small neighbor picks a tariff fight, the giant shrugs, and the little guy’s farmers eat it.

Inclusion for its own sake without competence is insanity.

Looking back, I am wondering if the creation of organized sports leagues in the late 1800s, around the world, was a way to kill Nationalistic fervor by distraction. What the kids call a psy-op these days.

My flock surveillance is God. He sees everything I do and I have to answer to Him. But this does lead me to wonder if flock cameras are monitoring the “flock” then who is the Shepherd in this scenario, the corporation or the government?

Is there a correlation between the amount of autism you have in your society and the amount of innovation you have in your society?

This video is more blackpilling for me than most other things. Thomas Sowell is a national treasure and always calls things as he sees them. He also has decades of experience looking at these issues if he doesn’t have Hope, oh Lord! youtu.be/PVPLFjpLNCY?is=jFuK…

Our barn cat has a ton of ticks this year. Same cat, same hunting territory, no changes…but massive increase in ticks. Now that we live in a zero trust society, my first reaction is almost always ‘I wonder if the government or a special interest has something to do with this?’
How would we even know if some government agency, NGO, or pharmaceutical company released ticks? The number of ticks out is the talk of the hiking down. Something is off, that's for sure.

Bought the $60 one tonight. Less than 1 penny per book!
Replying to @lsanger
Here: shop.encyclosphere.org Now $110 (flash storage went up significantly in price). $60 for unsigned. The number is written under the sticker on all drives made after ~#100. You can prove provenance because I have a list of all purchasers.

Have the libs on TikTok stopped posting? @libsoftiktok doesn’t really post the TikTok’s anymore and I don’t want to go to TikTok to find out.

It is impossible to get these guys to acknowledge that FISA is hated by those paying attention. As if saying we need it for national security trumps the fact that we know this is used to spy on Americans. The crazy part is they used FISA against Trump, but he still defends it.
Why are we bragging about this? “Can we pass the SAVE Act and stop the Democrats from stealing elections?” “Best I can do is pass an extension of a domestic spying act for the Dems to use on you after they steal the election”

All of these cpi’s are understated. They all exclude food and energy prices. ALL OF THEM!
Cumulative inflation since Jan '21 is between 23.6% and 27.1%, depending on which index we're using:

Christians are human. The Bible spotlights this failing on nearly every page. Still frustrating to watch.

I feel like spell check has gotten substantially worse and AI may be to blame. The amount of stupid misspelling that are changed ny x, gmail, Microsoft office is noticeably worse than just a few years ago. For instance ny is a word that should be by…,but x or Apple decided I meant ny. The frustrating part is that when I tried to retype the word ny it was actually changed back to by, so I know the spellcheck is capable of the correction. Make it make sense.

I want both sides to lose. The banks clearly state the terms in advance. And this person is college educated and should understand the terms. The banks should look at college major and cap the loan to a reasonable percentage of future expected income. So freshman art majors would get less loans than senior year physicists. Typically the problem is people taking loan deferral or making interest only payments. This happens with house loans too. These are called distressed loans and the loan can no longer stay on the balance sheet of the bank. This continues until the loan is brought back to current, usually they don’t. The expectation at that point is the loan is bad and should be written off as a loss. In student loans this is 100% the US Governments fault because they guarantee student loan payments to the bank. This takes the possibility of loss away from the bank who then turns around and makes bad loans because they won’t feel the consequences for their bad decisions.
Predatory lending is curbed through interest rate caps is 76 countries. Islam prohibits usury (riba), so Muslim-majority countries promote banking alternatives with workarounds. No country has successfully banned usury in a modern economy for centuries. We should start here.

DEI, Afirmative Action, and other social programs that pick winners and losers almost always hurt everyone, except the elites. These programs put their thumbs on the scale but don’t take in to account that only the top small percentage of folks it claims to benefit get the benefits. As just one example, most US southerners were not slave owners, and to compete against someone who owned slaves was a very difficult proposition. A modern example of this is using employees to compete against a competent AI. The cost are so much lower on the AI side that it would be almost impossible for the little guy to get ahead. On the topic of gender equality, GK Chesterton once wrote: “I believe this way of talking about women and their higher culture is almost entirely a growth of the classes which have always a reasonable amount of money. One odd thing I specially notice. Those who write like this seem entirely to forget the existence of the working and wage-earning classes. They say eternally that the ordinary woman is always a drudge. And what, in the name of the Nine Gods, is the ordinary man? These people seem to think that the ordinary man is a Cabinet Minister. They are always talking about the ordinary wild power, to carve his own way, to stamp his individuality on the world, to command and to be obeyed. This may be true of a certain class. Dukes, perhaps, are not drudges; but, then, neither are Duchesses. The Ladies and Gentlemen of the Smart Set are quite free for the higher culture, which consists chiefly of motoring and Bridge. But the ordinary man who typifies and constitutes the millions that make up our civilisation is no more free for the higher culture than his wife is.”

Sorry for the rain today. I caused it by watering the garden this morning. I’ll refrain from washing the car this weekend to not cause it again.
