Scenes from Blackpool this morning at high tide, when #StormBoelo was raging
Spotted a tent pitched at Manchester Square on Blackpool prom earlier. With the worst of the winds coming from behind the building, it should be ok but I certainly wouldn’t like to spend a night in it.
Torrential rain in Blackpool this afternoon. At least it’s set to dry up before #StormBoelo gets going 💨🌧️💦
Scenes from Blackpool today as we brace for #StormBoelo later 💨🌧️💦
It’s the calm before the storm here in Blackpool this Saturday. Visitors are enjoying the promenade and attractions while the conditions are not too bad, but it’s going to kick off from this evening & overnight #StormBoelo #StormAusten
A few years ago, after eating a chocolate bar or biscuit, I started folding the wrappers before tying them up. I sometimes do the same with crisp packets. Saves a bit of room in the bin, at least.

Well, another night and another Wetherspoons in Blackpool. This time it’s the Layton Rakes on Market Street in the town centre. The Layton Rakes also has a quite rare music license for a Wetherspoons, meaning that on certain busy nights with young people/students, they can play banging dance music.

This light up display on Blackpool promenade is part of a festival of light starting this week, but it’s been battered by high winds today. I took a video of them setting it up the other night, but I can’t see it surviving out here, especially when Storm Austen hasn’t even hit yet.
I’m not a plane spotter or anything, but I do use FlightRadar24 quite a lot when I hear something loud going over. It seems like the Airbus A330 is the most common jet going over my town. It’s quite loud as well, compared with similar jets.
