So after years of new cars, takeout, and vacations, the typical American has saved… less than $1,000.
At some point, it’s not “the system”.
It’s the choices.

Because they aren’t houseguests. They are paying customers.
Do you bus your table and wash your dishes at restaurants, like you might do as someone’s houseguest?
Of course not. If Airbnb hosts don’t understand the difference, that platform is completely cooked.
its just bonkers the new policy @airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?

FYI: Being hated by people you don’t like and would never take advice from is not a bad thing.
Embrace it.

"I have this vision some days of Canadians coming face to face with God and saying, 'What did you do with this country I gave you?'"
That's the right question. Not "who broke it," but what did WE do with what we were given?
A country requires stewardship. Every generation inherits one and hands it down, and someday every one of us gives an account to God for what we did with it, by His standards, not our own.
Yes, that includes our own moral conduct in public and in private.
Broken Country is a documentary about how Canada got where it is: the crime, the drug deaths, the healthcare system, the middle class getting squeezed out. Americans should watch it too (as in, this is where those same policies lead).

Only in the first world can you wear $200 shoes, drink an $8 coffee, own a $1,000 phone, and post on a billionaire's social media network about how capitalism has failed you.

I became a millionaire at 35.
Never the smartest person in the room. Or even the hardest worker.
I became a millionaire because I broke a lot of rules.
Here are 10 of society's rules you need to break:

Start everyone at $0, then give everyone $1M.
99.99% of rich people will be rich again, and 99.99% of poor people will be poor again.
Money is nothing but a tool.

I haven’t looked for a job in over a decade, so I’ll ask. Is the job market really that f#cked?
Are high skilled people really waiting months to get a job?
Or are people just saying it’s terrible for engagement on social?

Before quitting at 35, everyone assumed I would be broke, divorced and back at work within 5 years of achieving FI and quitting corporate American.
That was a decade ago.

I admit it...I don't have "systems" running my life.
I don't optimize everything.
No grand plan.
I get up, hit the gym, get some work done, and go by feel for everything else.
Feels right? I do it.
45 years in and not looking back.

Stop listening to a podcast every time you walk. You're training yourself to never be alone with your own head. And then you wonder why you can't focus on anything for more than 2 minutes.
Leave your phone at home.
Walk for 30+ minutes.
Embrace a little boredom.
Your mind will sharpen fast!

Canadians tried to do the right thing. They opened up their country, paid their taxes, worked their ass off only to have their own government destroy their country.
Praying for our Canadian brothers and sisters.

“How can anyone afford life when burritos are now $20???”
Have you considered shopping at one of those big grocery stores with tons of food, learning basic food-prep skills, and not outsourcing your cooking to a restaurant?
