Something funny happened at the gym today... I was heading to the changing room to change for my workout when I met this guy who had just finished working out and was about to leave. As usual, I decided to market my business. “Ah, bros, I dey sell eggs o. In case you need eggs.” He looked at me and said, “You know what's funny? I was just about to go and buy eggs now.” Ah! See God! Then he asked, “Do you have some in your car?” I said, “Yes na! I have eggs in my car.” At this point, I had already started bringing out my clothes to change. Next thing, the guy said, “I'm leaving now. Come and give me the eggs.” Omo! I didn't even think twice. I packed all the clothes I had brought out, threw everything back into my bag, carried my bag, and followed him straight to the car. Workout can wait. Customer cannot wait. I sold my eggs, collected my money, and then went back inside to change for my workout. This is the life of a business owner. 😂 But there's something I've come to understand about business. You cannot be ashamed to sell. Sometimes, the difference between making a sale and not making a sale is simply opening your mouth. Imagine I had walked past this guy without saying anything. He would have gone somewhere else to buy eggs, and I would have missed a customer who was standing right in front of me. And when you see an opportunity to make a sale, don't waste time unnecessarily. Of course, don't be desperate. But don't be too comfortable either.
