And to be fair to both of those other eras, there was no quick fix. You had to recruit and wait a few years to see improvement.
During this current span, we CHOSE to be who we are on offense.
We could have gone to portal to get QB's and OL's and we CHOSE not to.
You can lose football games, everyone does. But you can't go 2-8 at home.
Especially when you had a CHOICE to make changes to your personnel and did not.
Clemson is now 2-8 in last 10 games in Death Valley vs. Power 4 programs.
There is no historical precedence in the last 50 years for similar futility at home.
For perspective during previous terrible stretches:
Between '92-'95 there was a stretch we went 5-5 at home vs. Power 4.
Between '97-'99 there was a stretch we went 4-6 at home vs. Power 4.
In both of those time frames, head coaches were fired (Ken Hatfield and Tommy West)
