The fan base died. Idk what happened, but it's very sad to see. Especially the students, stu has been empty all year
@MBGLaunchpad would like your thoughts too, forgot to tag
Is this just because of the direction the sport is going? How do we get the fans back into the game? Has attendance has been a big issue across the country? The difference from just 2 years ago is stunning

The ACC and Big 12 have willingly participated in doing the same to the G6. Someday, the Ohio States and Alabamas may willingly do this to the Purdues and Mississippi States.

The No. 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 teams in the country lost today. The No. 3 team went into double OT.
The decision to devalue the regular season by doubling the size of the playoff is unforgivable. Weekends like this wonβt mean what they do now going forward.

Going on ESPN and shoving it right to them about how bad this is is grade A work and I salute you π«‘
The only way to salvage a 24 team cfp is to put all 10 conference champs in. It would prevent 8-4 teams from getting in and give meaning to all conferences. But they dont want more meaning for the G6, they just want more meaning for their 3 and 4 loss SEC/B10 schools
Throwback to last year when 12-1 JMU was ranked behind 4-loss Iowa who had ZERO ranked wins.
Anyone who thinks the 24-team will allow for more βaccessβ of any kind, except the access of 7-5 SECs and 8-4 B1Gs, is sorely mistaken.

The thing about 24 that bothers me most isβ¦
Who is this for?
Itβs not because TV was begging for it. ESPN had to be convinced.
Itβs not for a boatload of new cash. Losing conf champ games is gonna make this a minimal gain.
Itβs not because the 22nd team has any shot at a natty. It doesnβt.
Itβs certainly not done with the health, safety, or academic success of the players in mind since they donβt even get a say in this.
Itβs entirely to appease the people donating the money that keeps a financially irresponsible business model afloat. Itβs discounting success so schools can say βlook what your donation bought.β
Itβs an industry hellbent on treating investors and bosses as the customer, and customers as an infinite resource that will keep coming back no matter what.
"Yes these changes are bad but it's ok cuz you'll get used to it and all the other bad changes will be fine cuz you'll get used to it and eventually the sport you love will no longer exist but it's OK cuz you'll get used to it."
Fuck that. They're killing the sport
My actual feelings about the 24-team with no sarcasm or trolling.
I didn't need it.
I don't particularly want it.
I don't think this is some existential crisis for the sport.
I don't think this kills the regular season. The regular season you fear you're losing has been dead for a while now.
This won't save the sport.
It won't kill the sport.
It'll change the sport. You'll adapt to it.
Then it will change again, and you'll adapt to that too.
