BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! ๐จ ๐จ ๐จ
We have been keeping a HUGE SECRET. Weโve been planning the biggest surprise event for almost a whole year for financial advisors that are building the best practices in the US.
Our podcast, Advisor Freedom, has (amazingly!) exploded over the last 18 months and has been so much fun to run.
We thought the greatest way to celebrate that is to do the opposite of what every podcast seems to do (World Tours) and instead host an awesome and massive event for incredible financial advisors in Austin TX!
Soooo, we are excited to host the Inaugural Crossover Retreat!
I am obsessed with learning from other financial advisors (especially these superstars) on how theyโre building their practices, growing their firms/social media reach and utilizing AI everyday.
Thatโs exactly what Crossover is for. Sharpening with and learning from some of the best minds in the same room.
If you want more info comment CROSSOVER and I'll send you info and event details.
Big thank you to our sponsors: @JumpAdvisorAI , AdvisorCRM , InfluenceLab and Momentum Media
Excited to explode with this yearโs cohort!

This is the problem with AI right now in ONE screenshot.
LLMs are TOO agreeable. and that's actually a billion dollar opportunity.
There are MULTIPLE billion dollar companies hiding in plain sight here. the entire concept is just: AI that pushes back.
If AI is your employee...
Well, your best employee isn't the one who says "great idea boss" to everything. it's the one who tells you your idea sucks before you waste 6 months on it.
Brutally honest AI for fitness coaching. Dating profiles. Financial planning. Copywriting. Design feedback. Hiring decisions. Etc etc.
The niches are endless and nobody's building for them yet.
Someone please go build this

As someone who helped pioneer this industry (Thought Leadership Ghostwriting), let me shed some light:
1. This isn't anything new. I was making $250k/yr ghostwriting for CEOs back in 2016.
2. I built the first ghostwriting agency specifically for this avatar and scaled it to millions of dollars in revenue. At our height, we were producing more Thought Leadership content for Silicon Valley founders & C-level executives than Inc Magazine & Forbes... combined. (2017-2020)
3. People think "ghostwriting" means putting words in people's mouths. It's not. It's just leverage. Most founders/CEOs have frameworks and best practices and insights they've repeated infinite times. All a "ghostwriter" does it take THEIR frameworks and scale them online in the form of written content.
4. Most of this work happens from recorded calls/Zooms, and/or other pieces of content the CEO already has created elsewhere: a book they've written, a keynote presentation they've given, an internal All Hands meeting doc they've assembled, etc.
5. The longer you work with a CEO as their ghostwriter, the more efficient both parties become. The ghostwriter gets exponentially more productiveโbecause they know how the CEO thinks, what they will find interesting in the news, how to ask thoughtful questions that prompt interesting answers, how to repurpose existing work in multiple ways, etc. And the CEO actually gets more productive because they refine their ability to communicate how they "do what they do." (This is way harder than people realize.)
6. Very common "outsider" perspective here is, "Why doesn't the founder/CEO just write their own content?" 3 reasons. Because most lack the skill (yes, writing on the Internet requires both skill & awareness of social-cultural differences between platforms). Most lack the time (and have a hard time rationalizing the time relative to the value of their actions within the business). But most of all, because a LOT of them want/need a thinking partner. You'd be surprised how many 8, 9, and 10-figure founders/CEOs I've ghostwritten for were their own worst enemy, terrified of hitting publish, and were largely paying for someone to give them confidence in their own ideas.
7. Even if the founder/CEO is a prolific creator, they should still hire a ghostwriter to scale their library of content. You can't be "everywhere at once" without a ghostwriter. So even if the founder/CEO writes their own short-form posts... why not hire a ghostwriter to turn all their "own written" posts into LinkedIn content? Or Instagram graphics? A ghostwriter is just labor leverage.
~
It never ceases to amaze me how "behind" the masses are to this space.
I remember in 2016 thinking I'd just discovered gold.
"Wait... I get to work with insanely successful people... ask them any question I want... learn from some of the smartest people in their respective industries... and then I SEND THEM AN INVOICE... and they pay me a fat premium?!"
Almost 10 years later, and STILL people are baffled this industry exists.
But every day, more and more business owners want to build personal brandsโand see the value of organic traffic for their business.
Founders want to create content to raise money, or hype up their new startup.
C-level executives want to create content to have a "differentiator," make their career more defensible, and build public trust for their company.
Investors want to create content to increase deal flow.
etc. etc. etc.
I forever remain mega-bullish on the future of ghostwriting.
I promise, this industry isn't going anywhere.
It's just getting started.

How I went from $0 and 0 clients...
To $10,000+ months and long-term clients:
๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ฝ 1: ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐บ๐ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐น๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐
I used to send hundreds of cold emails.
I ended up getting my first client by pitching someone in person and shaking his hand.
Everyone else is online. So you should be IRL.
I started writing on LinkedIn.

"It's going to be easier to get these clients coming back than it is to go out and find new ones."
So I would:
-> Work 20 hours on a project I'd bill for 5 hours.
-> Provide multiple options and detailed notes.
-> Never miss a deadline.
Forgive the cliche, but you HAVE to go above and beyond.
I wanted to make more money.
So I spent money.
I found a LinkedIn creator doing exactly what I wanted to do and shelled out $400 for 1-hour call.
He gave me the blueprint, and I got into LinkedIn ghostwriting.

Niching down is a migraine for every freelancer.
"They say you have to niche down. But I don't want to turn down potential work!"
My advice?
Take everything in the first year.
Niche down once you find your footing.
I had experience in:
- Sales.
- Finance.
- Real estate investing.
So I started offering ghostwriting services in finance & real estate.
TL;DR:
-> Get clients IRL.
-> Write and build in public.
-> Get rejected 100s of times.
-> Work 5x harder than anyone else.
-> Niche down once you find stability.

Pro tip: Every time you're wondering if quitting your 9-5 was worth it, go to a Marriott, order a burnt Pike Place from the Starbucks in the lobby, and watch the corporate guys choke down parfaits in constricting collars at 7:17 AM.

I've round tripped and lost an amount of money over the past few years that'd put you in a coma if I walked you through every specific event
Many of my closest friends have even found themselves in exponentially deeper shit than I have and makes my crash outs look like relative peanuts
Perform enough mental gymnastics and anyone could find an explanation to where if you did this thing and avoided that thing perfectly then you'd be a billionaire by now
Imagine having to live like this. Every L makes you think it's over. Every W feels good for a bit until your brain finds a reason to trick you into thinking it's over again because you're still not back at whatever fantasy all time high you meaninglessly anchored your well being to
Perpetual misery all the way up until you die and it's all self inflicted. This is no way to live and frankly a punishment you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy yet you somehow justify the continuation of the exhausting thought spirals
If you can relate to this you have to repeatedly acknowledge that none of it actually matters in the grand scheme. You try your best with genuine intent and let the chips fall where they may
Whatever number you're at doesn't prevent you from finding moments to laugh and connect with others. Giving compliments are free. Being there to listen to someone you care about is free. Getting in a great workout is free. Stepping back into the arena to keep shooting is free. The energy and inspiration you receive in return from doing these things are also free
You have the freedom to craft your perspective of life in the way that optimizes for carefreeness and without needing tangible proof to determine whether you're allowed to be light on your feet or not
External circumstances can always change in either direction and sometimes violently. Much of this is not in your control. So build your confidence on something with an impenetrable foundation. An internal one that can't be bought or sold
The solution for everything is always to just have a good day. Tough few weeks and suddenly you're wallowing over how little time you have left to make it. Notch up your screen time in an attempt to lock in harder but all you're doing is injecting more scarcity in your brain
Catch up with a friend, grab dinner, do something you see as pure leisure. Come home and recognize that nothing bad happened after you unplugged. Wake up the next morning and guarantee you feel completely different about where you are in the arbitrary race
Realize it doesn't matter if you're not as wealthy as you want right now. Regardless of the number you can still choose to enjoy things without needing an arbitrary marker of success to justify it
Acknowledge this and you basically have nothing to lose because your ability to embody a more carefree nature without permission isn't determined by something external and can never be taken away from you
Life becomes a game you play simply because it's fun. Proverbially die and respawn as many times as you wish. Who cares when the internal well of laughs and inspiration can always be tapped into at your disposal. You become insanely powerful when what happens out there can no longer control your emotions as much as your own perspective
You eliminate the seriousness around every decision and this is what ultimately allows you to not only perform at your best but also attract copious amounts of luck into your world that would ultimately get you to where you expected to be without even being conscious of your progress until way after you surpass it

You can grow a 6-figure Solopreneur biz
All hard lessons learned the past 14 months growing a LinkedIn ghostwriting business.
1) Failing at Solopreneurship in 2019 taught me that "build a website and they will come" is a lie. You need a fanbase to monetize.
2) Entrepreneurship is messy and chaotic. You gain a lot of freedom but also have to build everything from scratch.
3) Learn how to turn everything you do into a repeatable process. Write it down.
4) The more you give away for free in your content, the more clients you attract.
5) Show the results your prospects want to achieve to attract them on LinkedIn.
6) If you don't want to do cold outreach, build an audience of 1,000 true fans.
7) It's possible to turn this into another job you hate. Put boundaries in place early around how much you will work.
8) My goal was not to grow a $1B business, but to design a better lifestyle. Get clear on what you want from the start.
9) Learning how to write and publish daily for a year was a valuable skill to build before launching a business.
10) Embrace the "never done learning" mindset and play 5-10 year games.
Bonus advice: stay caffeinated

Don't overcomplicate money.
90% comes down to habits.
I've met people earning $500k with no savings...
I've met people earning $50k who are millionaires...
Here's what the first group does:
- Earns a lot of money
- Spends a lot of money
- Takes on too much debt
- Gets handcuffed to stuff
Here's what the second group does:
- Earns as much as possible
- Saves before they spend
- Lives below their means
- Has a plan with goals
If you want to build wealth...
Start with your habits.
Start with self education.
Start with self investment.
Which habits have paid off for you?

The fact that every Fortune 500 isnโt enabling & empowering their c-suite to create content on social is bat shit crazy to me.
These companies literally have people will monopolies on unique stories/experiences inside their walls & can quickly become personality-driven brands, yet theyโre not doing it.
Itโs a matter of time before they wake up to the goldmine theyโre sitting on.
