I’m so excited to announce that I am starting and will serve as the Chief Meteorologist for the Alabama Weather Network, a new endeavor to serve all 67 Alabama counties with the most accurate weather coverage possible. Whether it's a blue-sky day or there’s severe weather anywhere in our state, our Network will be on the air 24/7 with the latest weather updates. We go live on August 11. Be sure to follow the Alabama Weather Network @AlabamaWXNet right now for the latest updates!

30 years ago, MLB teams broke camp and Michael Jordan was assigned to the Birmingham Barons, the Double A affiliate of the White Sox. The announcement came at 8am in Chicago by GM Ron Schueler. Five minutes later, cars streamed into the Barons parking lot to buy tickets; lines formed that would not subside until after midnight.
Demand was so great that the Barons had to double the number of phone lines to accommodate the public request for tickets. The excitement of having one of the world’s greatest athletes playing minor league baseball at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium would continue, and even build, throughout the entire 1994 season.
More Fun Facts about Jordan's incredible year in baseball will appear in the coming weeks.

There is a lot to be thankful for this #Thanksgiving
