Melissa Pelc-Lohr, 50, moved from Michigan to Moira, New York, to get away from her ex-husband.
On Oct. 27, State Police found her shot dead in her home. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Her ex, Norman Lohr Jr., 50, fled. After a 200-mile chase, troopers found him in Lyons, NY — dead from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Then her daughter Allison spoke out.
Allison says Lohr sexually assaulted her in 2023. She and her mom reported it to the sheriff.
She says she found a "shrine" he kept of her underwear and personal items in a closet and that her mom moved away after discovering it.
She got protection orders. She says he violated them at least 3 TIMES. Nothing happened.
"I tried to protect myself using the legal system and look what happened. My mom is gone."
Here's the part that should make you furious:
The Michigan court hearing on his violations was scheduled for Oct. 28.
ONE DAY after he killed her.

In 1986, magician James Randi caught faith healer Peter Popoff with a radio in his ear. His wife was reading him the names and illnesses he said came from God.
His ministry had been taking in $550,000 a month, and a year later he was bankrupt. Years later he returned to TV with "miracle spring water," and in 2005 his ministry took in over $23 million.
In the video below, Randi shows how his radio scanner caught the voice in Popoff's ear. "Hello, Petey, can you hear me?"
At his "miracle crusades," Popoff named strangers and their illnesses, saying God told him. "God is touching that thyroid condition right now," he told one woman.
Randi suspected a trick, and his scanner picked up "a decidedly worldly source." It was Popoff's wife, Elizabeth, reading him prayer cards the audience filled out before the show.
Randi played the tapes on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Popoff first called them a fake, then admitted the earpiece and said "almost everybody" knew.
That fall he went off the air, and in 1987 he went bankrupt owing 790 creditors. His lawyer blamed "poor business judgment" more than the exposure.
By the 2000s he was back on late-night TV, mailing free "miracle spring water" and asking for donations. His shows still aired in 2025, when a UK regulator fined a channel £150,000 for broadcasting them.

Larry Sanders walked away from $21,935,296 of his $44 million NBA contract after the league suspended him for marijuana, the same drug it took off its banned list in 2023.
In the summer of 2013 the Milwaukee Bucks gave Sanders a four-year, $44 million extension. He had been the 15th pick in the 2010 draft.
The first season of the deal went badly. In November 2013 he hurt his thumb in a fight at a Milwaukee nightclub and needed surgery. In April 2014 the NBA suspended him five games after his third positive test for marijuana. The league only suspends a player after the third positive test.
In December 2014 he left the team for personal reasons. In January 2015 the league suspended him again, this time without pay for at least 10 games and until he completed a treatment program. He missed 12 games and lost about $1.2 million in salary.
In February 2015 he and the Bucks agreed to a buyout. He kept $9,005,882 for that season and $13.059 million more, which Milwaukee spread over seven years at $1,865,546 a year through 2021-22. He gave up $21,935,296.
On Gilbert Arenas's show No Chill, Sanders explained how he saw it:
"I didn't feel like a human. I felt more like a product in a lot of ways, and very disposable."
"My most consistent year of smoking weed and playing was when I averaged three blocks in a double-double. But I was being penalized for that on the other end."
He said the alternatives he was offered were pills: "They have residual effects on my mental that y'all don't gotta deal with."
"I was smoking weed consistently, averaging three blocks in a double-double, and then summertime comes and they're like, you got to go to rehab for 90 days."
The NBA paused marijuana testing for three seasons starting in 2020. In 2023 the new collective bargaining agreement removed it from the banned list entirely.
The case against Sanders:
He signed the extension knowing the rules. He failed four tests, got into a nightclub fight in the first month of the deal and left the team in the middle of the season. The Bucks still paid him about $22 million for a contract he chose not to finish.
The case for Sanders:
He says he was treating anxiety and depression with a substance the NBA no longer bans. He lost about $1.2 million in pay for it, then gave up almost $22 million more when he left. Players today face no penalty for the same thing.
So which is it: a player who broke the rules and walked out on a $44 million commitment, or a player punished for something the league itself later decided was fine?
Is it fair that he lost $21.9 million over weed?

A "maniac" who was kicked off the NYPD force has admitted to slashing a young woman jogging along a Brooklyn footpath last week — but says he doesn’t remember carrying out the murder.
Sayed Mohassib, 27, was charged with second-degree murder Saturday for the slaying of Katie Suarez along the Shore Parkway Greenway promenade, police sources said.
Officers tracked him down to his New Jersey home after picking him up on video leaving the park around the time that Suarez was attacked last week.
The suspect told cops he has no memory of the attack, but woke up from a blackout covered in blood and with the murder weapon in his possession.
Investigators believe Mohassib dumped the knife in the garbage and it was taken to a Staten Island landfill before landing at a New Jersey dump.
The Bensonhurst man worked a short stint in the NYPD but was removed from the force after being deemed psychologically unfit, the sources said.
Mohassib initially left the NYPD after five months to join the Marines, who discharged him due to apparent mental instability, according to sources. He attempted to rejoin the NYPD, but was immediately removed from the job.
He was working as a teacher’s aide at PS 200 in Bensonhurst at the time of the attack.
The alleged killer and Suarez both went to Brooklyn College together, but it’s not clear if they knew one another.
