Keep this in mind when starting your bench press progression off with push-ups.
63 lbs of bodyweight is a 43 pound push-up.
A 15 lb. training bar makes a whole lot more sense.
REALLY, REALLY makes sense for your bigger kids.
Proximity expands possibility. When you get in the right rooms, belief stops being a theory and starts becoming reality. Sometimes all it takes is getting in the right room to realize you belong there too.

Are we helping kids… or teaching them to run from hard things?
I see this all the time in schools.
A student has a problem with a teacher, coach, classmate, or situation, and too often the first response is to remove the problem.
Switch the class.
Quit the team.
Avoid the conversation.
Have the parent step in and fix it.
I understand the instinct. We don’t want to see our kids struggle.
But Dr. Becky Kennedy said something powerful:
“The more you optimize for happiness in childhood, the more you actually wire for anxiety in adulthood.”
Kids need to learn that disappointment is survivable.
Conflict is survivable.
Failure is survivable.
Being uncomfortable is survivable.
Sometimes the best thing we can do for kids isn’t remove the hard thing.
It’s help them learn how to walk through it.

Butt back until hammies stop you
Bar touching all the way down and up

Remember: There are plenty of brilliant people who do nothing with their lives...and average people who lap them.
Work ethic, passion, and initiative will take you everywhere you want to go.

Here’s our 6th grade this morning
These classes have less than an hour of experience with a barbell
1. We don’t do this forever
2. We sprint, jump, land & move 1000 different ways weekly
3. We limit variables in here so progress is easy to measure

The older you get, the more you realize a peaceful home, a healthy body, meaningful work, and people you love are some of the greatest forms of wealth.

We are ALL still developing. Hence, we are all in DEVELOPMENT. Curiosity, willingness, gratitude…, you get to!!! Be so excited for your life and for your opportunities…engage each one and be all in, in all the ways you can be w them all.

Watch which of your people volunteer for the invisible work. The ones who don't need credit will pick up what matters instead of what looks cool.
Those are your future leaders.

Executive presence isn't charisma. It's trust. Nobody follows the most “magnetic” person in the room. They follow the one they believe will get them somewhere.
