according to severance editor, keith fraase, this shot was done practically by jessica lee gagné, on camera (with double exposure & winding the film back), there is no digital dissolve transition in this clip 🤯👏

Brunch with one of my favourite guests from @TheEditingPod @mrsimonsmith Your favourite TV show? Yeah, he likely edited that one. Note: Behind us is something special, but I can’t tell you yet

Currently fascinated with Butterfly Effect Editing. When a seemingly unrelated cut makes an edit 5 minutes later even more impactful. Jake Roberts of Civil War talked about it. He explained why they put a quiet scene before a needledrop, and it made it hit HARD.

had a great time sharing a bit about our edit process on beef!
🌟New episode! 🌟 This week we sat down with two editors of Netflix's Beef - meet @jordanlkim and Nat Fuller. We learned how they approach editing antiheroes and how they use the butterfly effect of editing throughout the show. 🦋 Out now on @YouTube or wherever you get podcasts. 🎙️

Really fascinated with the idea of more serial binge-able content on YouTube, so I asked Netflix editors how they compel me to watch 10 hours of TV in one sitting. Obviously, yes, a cliffhanger, but the binge-ability comes by training the audience that the next episode immediately responds to it. Essentially, you're cutting to the next scene, but instead, you put credits in between. Cut them off the story on a huge escalation and reward them with the answer. That reward system creates binge-ability.

I couldn’t agree more. Editors deserve to be mentioned by personal name, not channel name. They are the producers and songwriters of the creator economy and deserve to be credited as such!
The Streamys are the Oscars of YouTube. But they don't even put the names of The Best Editing nominees on their website. And the awards for Cinematography, Editing, and VFX aren't even in the broadcast. We broke down why that needs to change in our latest episode. Out now. Link in bio. 🎙️

Wholeheartedly agree here with @TheEditingPod Editors, VFX artists, Camera work, Thumbnail Design. There are tons of craftsmen behind the scenes that are making the content we all love. We should recognize them at the @streamys

One of the most truthful statements about YouTube editing: "You don't own your audience on a platform, you need to continuously earn your audience. And a great editor is part of respecting your audience and building a great story." - @reneritchie on @TheEditingPod

I love the Directors Danny & Michael Philippou talk about choosing an Old track La Foule and remixing it as an extension of its idea of an old relic in hands of teenagers. @HHillierSmith thanks for expanding on the montage, So Bong Joon-Ho. @TheEditingPod youtu.be/U8vVp5QplnI
