"Supposing there was no intelligence behind the universe, no creative mind. In that case, nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking. It is merely that when the atoms inside my skull happen, for physical or chemical reasons, to arrange themselves in a certain way, this gives me, as a by-product, the sensation I call thought. But, if so, how can I trust my own thinking to be true? It's like upsetting a milk jug and hoping that the way it splashes itself will give you a map of London. But if I can't trust my own thinking, of course I can't trust the arguments leading to Atheism, and therefore have no reason to be an Atheist, or anything else. Unless I believe in God, I cannot believe in thought: so I can never use thought to disbelieve in God." — C.S. Lewis
Elon Musk explains why atoms can't account for what you're feeling right now:
Lex Fridman asked whether understanding the universe means understanding intelligence. Musk took it straight past intelligence.
Elon: "There are some fundamental questions of like, what is thought, what is emotion. Is it really just one atom bumping into another atom? It feels like something more than that."
He doesn't think this is a gap that gets filled in later. He thinks it's a gap we're standing in right now.
Elon: "I think we're probably missing some really big things. Something that'll be obvious in retrospect."
Then he names the part no physical model has a place for.
Elon: "On what dimension does thought exist? What dimension do emotions exist? We feel them very strongly. I suspect there's more to it than atoms bumping into atoms."
Which leaves two options. He picks the stranger one.
Elon: "Either perhaps everything's conscious or nothing is conscious. One of the two. I like the former. Everything conscious just seems more fun."
Elon: "We're composed of atoms, and those atoms are composed of quarks and leptons, and those quarks and leptons have been around since the beginning of the universe."
Same particles since the start. Somewhere in the arrangement, they began to feel like someone.

Spending over a trillion dollars to randomly send everyone in the country a check for five grand, including people who are not even net taxpayers -- which makes this, yes, welfare -- is idiotic. Sorry. We did that during covid and it didn't help anything. Only made inflation worse. This is flagrant bribery. Which I could maybe stomach if the plan itself was at least sensible and coherent, but it isn't.

The seething rage at this post would be hilarious if it wasn't so depressingly satanic.
"The bell curve! IQ! Korea adoption study! REEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
Yes. And?
Let me go ahead and just grant all your frantic, obsessive claims about group differences. Have them all. Let's assume you're right about everything.
It still changes nothing about the truths that govern children of God:
All human beings are made in God's image, equal before Him in their worth and dignity and claim to justice. Our laws should treat everyone equally, without partiality.
Mankind is not merely an animal, and to treat him as such is a blasphemous affront to the God who created him
We should judge individuals by their actions and character rather than by their racial group
Some cultures are inherently better than others, and there's nothing wrong with avoiding bad cultures or preventing immigration from bad cultures.
Nurture, religion, culture, and choices are all much more powerful determinants of who you will become than DNA is
God uses the weak to shame the strong and the foolish to shame the wise. Your racial pride and your confidence in your ancestry will damn you to Hell.
Godless anthropology and pagan superstition, both of which feature a disordered worship of nature, always end in death and injustice. Every time. I don't care how good your intentions are.
Racists hate adoption because it blows their entire worldview to smithereens.
I know a family who adopted a kid from the Congo. He’s a hillbilly with a southern accent who loves Jesus and loves deer hunting. Aside from his looks, indistinguishable from his family and community. They have a daughter they adopted from Ethiopia. She now teaches at a university.
The “DNA is destiny” crowd has no answer to this except to seethe. Adoption is a beautiful picture of what Christ did for us. That’s why Satan and his minions hate it.

With the disappearance of physical retail sales, Sony would hold a monopoly over video game sales on PlayStation because alternative digital stores are not allowed on the platform.
Without alternatives, consumers will be forced to accept unfavorable terms.

A friend, upon posting this, said, rightly, "Ever notice that the gospel is never their answer?" He is right, of course. This is Christless Nationalism. It can't have the gospel as its power since it is a political movement wearing a religious mask, nothing more. And the amazing thing is, these guys are so benighted they don't realize that without the Spirit sweeping across a nation or a culture, the powers they think they possess can, and will, be used against *them*. One major national election tilting to the left and the "ban Hinduism" mantra becomes the "ban Christianity" mantra and they won't have the slightest ground of complaint. They just don't get that our only hope, and our only power, is the gospel, not the state. Christless Nationalism is a caricature that may well have tragic consequences.

The "social conservatives" were right about everything. We have been right about everything for decades. Literally everything. We told you that if you tolerate euthanasia even for the terminally ill, even for the "extreme cases," very soon it will be used to put down anyone the state deems inconvenient or burdensome. And that is exactly what has happened, just as we said it would.

People who purposely decide not to have children are necessarily burdens to a society because they will rely upon other people’s children to run society when they themselves are older. Not even through benefits but just basic social functioning like nurses, doctors, farmers, police, construction workers etc. these are jobs which will be taken on by the children of a generation they did not contribute to raising. Every generation has to make the sacrifices of parenting in order to people the society of the future for it to keep running. The purposely childless are implicitly saying they don’t mind profiting off the parenting sacrifices of others.

This is simply legalized theft.
Uphold the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.
End civil asset forfeiture.
It's not a crime to carry over $10K, we just want to know about it. CBP officers in Texas seized over $70K of unreported U.S. currency. A driver was referred for secondary inspection, during which officers and a K9 unit found the money concealed in the vehicle.
