Looking like a good prediction if he can keep fit. Very impressed with the Botman and Thiaw partnership so far this season. #nufc

I think Botman will recapture beast mode.

I’ve captained him in fantasy football so he’s unlikely to do much of anything. But Gakpo will probably score.

EXCLUSIVE🚨: Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris has revealed that he does not feel threatened by new Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle’s good looks and huge biceps. The balding 50 year old claims most women prefer ordinary looking men.

Matthias Jaissle is a very very smart coach. The fit with Newcastle’s squad is there because he does have a default setting of wanting to dominate with a high pressing 4-4-2. However it is more than that. You can see that his players are completely in sync off-the-ball - they can be sitting in a mid-block and the triggers to transform this into high pressing are harmonic and result in the opposition being strangled. A key thing that Newcastle will benefit from is Jaissle’s flexibility. He is not a plan A only “my way and only my way” type of coach. He adapts to and maximises the talent that he has. You can see this with how he has set up plays that maximise Galeño (in-behind threat from wide), Firmino (pocket player), Toney (aerial threat/hold-up), Mahrez (wide creator). And he often targets opposition team weaknesses with his players’ strengths. This should have Newcastle competing very well strategically vs big teams. It was a hallmark of his back to back AFC Champions League wins. What comes across with his football is that he fundamentally has very strong understanding of his players’ games and will help them excel. Strong feeling is that Jaissle is a hidden coaching gem (because he’s been in Saudi). He should play into the strengths of Newcastle’s squad but also give them extra tools to evolve. This is a very exciting appointment.

Rest In Peace Baresi. The greatest central defender of all time. The ultimate captain. ❤️❤️😢
The entire history of AC Milan is in tears following the passing of Franco Baresi. His example and integrity will be forever etched into the Club's DNA, just as his iconic number 6 shirt is. The condolences AC Milan extends to Franco Baresi's family at such a difficult time are shared by every Rossonero, who feels this loss as their own.

Rest in peace to the man that is largely responsible for me following English football. What a Legend.
🤍 🕊️ A statement on behalf of Kevin Keegan’s family: “It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75. “Kevin had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments. “A double Ballon D’or winner, Kevin was a much loved husband, father and grandfather. “The family would like to thank Kevin’s incredible medical team for all their support. “This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy.” #NUFC

Yoane Wissa's first season at #NUFC was disappointing to say the least. However, this World Cup he looks like a new, sharper player, looking to make a point. I broke down his key goals and moments so far to discuss why his 26/27 season could be a MASSIVE one. a thread 🧵

#NUFC have needed a left-footed RW for ages, with Miguel Almiron being the last to play for the club. Today the club launched a hijack bid for the extremely talented Zadok Yohanna. From ridiculous pace to RIDICULOUS stats, here's why he'd be an unbelievable buy. a thread 🧵

Super thread here from Tom. Abde is a massive talent and always looked lively when he broke into the Barca first team. Could be a very good player for us and certainly capable of getting the fans excited.
With Anthony Gordon departing #NUFC, the club have a BIG job on their hands to replace him effectively. According to many reliable reports, Abde Ezzalzouli is the no.1 target. From underlying data to surprising statistics, here's why he'd be a brilliant signing. a thread 🧵

Theory: Doctor Strange Saw Further Than Thanos🚨 When Strange looked at 14,000,605 futures, he wasn’t searching for a single way to win. He was searching for a future that didn’t collapse after the win. There were many timelines where Thanos was defeated. Different deaths. Different survivors. But in most of them, time manipulation spiraled out of control. Heroes kept trying to fix things, branches multiplied, incursions followed, and the multiverse rushed toward war (Kang, Doom same outcome, different name). The Endgame timeline is different because Strange lets the worst thing happen first. He gives up the Time Stone, the Snap occurs, and the universe lives with the consequences for five years. No constant rewrites. No panic corrections. That delay creates stability. The Time Heist was meant to happen. Loki escaping wasn’t but that fracture produces a Loki who ultimately stabilizes the multiverse instead of conquering it. Strange didn’t choose a future where the Avengers won.He chose one where what came after didn’t destroy everything. Thanos was the test. The multiversal war was the real threat.

Spot on from Collymore here.
A lot to unpack. Firstly, he's under contract, one he willingly signed. Secondly, and I've experienced this as have a million players, he's alluding to ( on signing that contract) the old "do well and if someone offers £80m for you we'll let you go. Answer to this of course is a buy out clause that both parties agreed to. Thirdly, he's doing something every modern ( and I hate it) player does. Down tools, don't take the very old school route of transfer request if he wants out which he won't do as it means giving up a large chunk of bonus/loyalty/salary. In short, modern players want to leave, be paid on leaving and on signing for a new club. Cake meets eating it. If Newcastle said to him and his agent a year ago " we'll let him go if he has a great season " but it wasn't written down, tough on Isak. If the player wants to leave but doesn't want to go on the transfer list, then that's the player wanting that cake and eating it. If he's desperate to leave, put in a request, that alerts every club on earth of his availability ( if Newcastle accept it, and that should because no club wants a player who doesn't want to stay publicly/officially) he forfeits some cash but he's outta there pronto. Newcastle can play hardball and make him fulfill his contractual obligations but they'll lose money month on month plus they'll need a replacement who does want to play for Newcastle. I'd sack the agent if I'd received the advice he has, because his contract didn't have a " if you do well you can go at £xxxx", he's basically been on strike for a couple of weeks ( what's the agent doing to get him and club to agree an exit strategy???), an agent several weeks in should advise pulling the transfer list rip cord ( " you're going to lose some dough but your next club will make it up ") etc etc. And any public statement can be used in any tribunal against the ayer do advise him to keep it shut. Piss poor agent work, naive player, "possible" renaging ( pure speculation at this point) on handshake by club, a football transfer room 101 in how not to handle a febrile situation.
