It’s not about the veto. It’s about the Irish people being given a guarantee that helped secure the passage of two previous referenda, only for that same guarantee to be removed later without first asking the Irish people for their consent. That is the real issue: trust, democracy
It remains baffling to me that so many people in Ireland - who I usually agree with - are going to the mat to maintain a British veto over what Ireland does with its own army. Many of these people call themselves nationalists.

This story in today’s @Independent_ie should make people angry. It shows how Irish graduates are not prioritised when approx 20k nursing visas have been granted since 2020 and 700 up to April this year alone. Why does Gov policy push our young to leave?

Absolutely awful numbers for the government and a damning verdict on the budget. Harris and Martin have to go.
Red C (owned by and published in Business Post), and thanks to Grok 1. Current opinion poll versus last month 2. Current opinion poll versus #GE24 3. Current opinion poll versus Feb 2022, when SF was consistently in mid 30's, Aontú was so small it was lumped in with 'others', and just before Alan Kelly was deposed as Labour leader because of disappointing opinion poll numbers... Isn't Grok great altogether!

I see there's a considerable media campaign to salvage something from the appalling anti-family video by CUAN/DRCC. The same media media who acted as cheerleaders for the two infamous failed referendums have leant no lessons. Middle Ireland is not going to be lectured.
