NEARLY 1 OUT OF 3 (60,000 EMPLOYEES) AT MICROSOFT BEING OFFERED VOLUNTARY TERMINATION Emails should be going out any minute to those receiving the offer. Absolutely insane.
$MSFT offers 60,000 employees a voluntary exit. 60K Y’all!! First time this has ever been offered at Microsoft and it will affect employees in India, The United States, Canada, and the UK at level 70 or below… Employees find out in a few hours if they are being targeted for this. This just makes me think that H127 layoffs sound intense. Is this a pre-layoff round? Also makes me wonder if they changed some scheduled layoffs due to be called out by @VP. Peace offering? 🤔 Timing is just interesting. More to come.

Financial freedom is just one boring business away. Someone is selling a landscaping business with 69% margins for 1.1x earnings because they hate money. It’s run with fax machines and a whiteboard. The owner has never heard of ChatGPT. Buy it, keep your day job, install some systems, and collect the checks. Its 6:15 a.m. Your foreman has quit, two guys are in jail, and someone drove the zero-turn into a customer’s swimming pool. The homeowner is threatening to sue. Your insurance agent isn’t answering. The guy who sank the mower wants to know if he’s still getting paid for the day. Payroll is Friday, your best crew just walked off a job, and the foreman was apparently the only person who knew how to operate the scheduling software. At 9 a.m., you join your W-2 team’s weekly Zoom meeting from the parking lot of a bail bondsman. Your boss asks if you have the bandwidth to take on another project. You’ve owned the business for eleven days.
If you work a W2 job and don't have a boring business that pays you $5k-$10k a month on top of your salary... I got you. Here are 9 boring businesses for sale today (& where to buy them):

It's 0900 on a Tuesday at your W-2. Your quarterly review starts at 0930. You've got your wins on a sticky note under your monitor, because last quarter your boss said you "seemed checked out" and you've been on thin ice ever since. Your phone buzzes. It's Maria, lead teacher at the daycare you bought in Houston. "Kayla and Destiny both called out. I'm alone with 9 toddlers. Ratio is 4. What do you want me to do?" You know what the rules say she has to do. Call parents and send kids home. Every one of those parents has a job too. Some of them will pull their kid by Friday. You sneak to the bathroom so you can text the sub list again. Two numbers are disconnected. One says she found a full-time job. One answers: "$35/hr, can be there at 11." That’s $15 an hour more than what the old owner paid. You say yes. What the fuck else are you going to do? At 9:08 the front desk texts a photo. A little boy's forearm with a ring of purple teeth marks. "Mom is here. She says this happened yesterday and nobody told her. She's asking for the owner and won’t leave until she talks to you ." You text Maria. Maria is alone with nine toddlers. At 9:14 the mom emails you directly. She's polite. She asks which child bit her son, whether it's happened before, and how she contacts licensing. You can't tell her which child. You don't know if it's happened before. You know exactly how she contacts licensing, and so does she. You think about the savings you put down. The personally guaranteed debt. You think about the night you showed your wife the listing and said "trained staff in place, it basically runs itself." That was the last real conversation you two had; now you pass each other in the kitchen like roommates, and you can't remember the last time you asked about her day. If she doesn’t start taking more hours at work A- you’re going to need to move in with her parents. At 9:24 Maria texts again. "Destiny says she's not coming back. She got an offer at Primrose." At 9:28 your boss pings. "Ready when you are." You look at the sticky note. You look at your phone. The bite mark photo is still open. You join the call and smile.

This is embarrassing that the President of @BizScout_ is posting this. It shows he knows nothing about small business. These businesses are high profit margin because the owner is doing everything - AKA not passive whatsoever. Very bad look @Codie_Sanchez

If you want to hate your life, lose your job, lose your wife, never see your kids, and probably lose your house in bankruptcy, buy a $5-10k/month free cash-flow landscaping business on top of your w2 with 0 experience.

Nithya Raman vs. Graham on police being called on homeless people in LA… Nithya: “If there's not a crime happening there...” Graham: “There is a crime, they’re doing drugs.” Nithya: “Well no if they're just sitting on your sidewalk...” Graham: “No no, they're doing drugs.” Nithya: “Well, that's a different situation. What I’m talking about is someone sitting on your sidewalk talking to themselves potentially.” Graham: “Oh, no, no, no, no. I mean that’s not what I’m talking... anytime the police have been called, it’s because they’re doing drugs in public.”

When will housing costs get back to normal? Possibly not until around 2031, per a new Redfin analysis. If mortgage rates stay near today’s 7.5% and home prices stop rising, it could take about six years for housing costs to return to 2018 levels, when the typical buyer spent 30% of their income on the monthly payment. But in about half of major metros, it could take 10 years or more, including New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit and Tampa, where prices are rising faster than incomes.

Jason Oppenheim breaks down the EXACT math on why LA landlords lose money every month… “If you're buying a fourplex today for $2,000,000... it's probably gonna cost you about, call it $12,000 a month to carry that property... You're not gonna get $12,000 in rent.”

Waiting for a 2008-style crash before you buy? 🚨 Here's what builders see that most people don't Most owners are locked into low rates and aren't selling There's no wave of distressed sellers like 2008 Builders are already cutting prices instead of crashing The discount is happening now, just quietly. Are you sure you want to wait until rates start dropping again? What do you think will happen when they do?
