A lot of attention on some names going it alone - & good luck to them. But the number that will work for is very small, esp in the UK.
For journalism to thrive, it needs newsrooms & scale. Models are being sorely tested, but in 10 years, many news orgs will adapt and survive.

Jon Fosse welcomes you to the Vaim Hotel
The second instalment in the Norwegian author’s Vaim trilogy is a Kafkaesque farce about a hotel guest perplexed by his very presence in a strange fishing village

This comparison with Salman Rushdie is pure luxury dilettantism. You can disagree with the politics that led to Rooney's books being withdrawn, but no one is threatening to kill her. Rushdie OTOH is under constant threat from Islamists, which is the opposite to Rooney's situation
If you ever sought out the novels of Sally Rooney in bookshops – when that was still possible – you’d know they sit in the fiction stacks adjacent to the novels of another SR whose books have been withdrawn in dastardly political circumstances. Until last week, “Rooney” and “Rushdie” had little in common beyond being shelfmates; now they have more than just a physical proximity.

Villa are actually the ultimate legacy club. They started it all. He’s not going to a dysfunctional outfit that’s on the wane - even if they do sell more shirts at airports.
My opinion on @UnaiEmery_ and Manchester United
Unai (more than capable to manage Manchester United) is where he wants to be, where he feels appreciated, and looked after.
He is very ambitious and his ambition right now is to use the responsability he has been given by Villa's owners to take the team as far as he can
As explained in the video 🤗

Liverpool vs Man City was one of the Premier League's lowest days, sad and strange and hopeless. Every City game from now on must expose the circus for what it is

An exhibition of French artists inspired by their time in south is easy on the eye and determinedly entertaining, while Renoir at the National Gallery is pure kitsch
