Nice to know good things can still happen to Syracuse sports after all! This team was due for something good to happen and some good breaks.

Syracuse basketball combined stats through first two exhibition games against UConn and at Siena.

Fran Brown announces Malachi Nelson had surgery for a “high ankle sprain” and will be out for a couple of weeks on his radio show on @TKClassicRock. Also announces Amari Odom is out for the year and Steve Angeli is in line to start this weekend.

What a world.

Exhibition debuts for Syracuse basketball players who transferred out this past offseason.

If Steve Angeli is not available, Georgetown transfer Danny Lauter and Zaid Lott, a former UNC commit from Charlotte's Providence Day, will be next up. Lott and Chris Peal's former HS teammate at PD, WR Jordan Shipp, is listed as questionable for UNC. Shipp is their top target.

Syracuse estimated in "Tier 5: $10-$12 million" for its basketball roster budget this year according to this article.

Tale of the stats between Syracuse and UNC this week is wild to look at. SU has the benefit of drubbing New Hampshire in these. Bill Belichick said this week about SU: "I don't think I've ever coached against a team that's had four quarterbacks that are all legitimate players."

Indiana, led by two talented high priced portal bigs, out rebounded UNC by 22 today and won by 18. That’s going to be a tough game for Syracuse.

Syracuse Football in ACC play Total Yards SU: 1676 Opp: 1324 Outgained opponent in 3 of 4 gms 1st Downs SU: 101 Opp: 72 Have had more first downs in all 4 ACC games Despite that, SU is 0-4 in ACC play. Hard to wrap your head around.

Rough stretch for Jamie Tremble. Syracuse is really missing Antoine Deslauriers who is not dressed today.

The ACC will have six men's lacrosse teams starting in 2028, which is enough for an AQ in NCAA Playoffs. SMU I'm sure will be a player and pull in talent with the resources they have.

Syracuse Football 1st in ACC in Time of Possession 3rd in FBS in Plays Per Game (81.8) 7th in ACC in Total Offense (447.4) 5th in ACC in Total Defense (311.4) 4th in ACC in 3rd Down Conversion % (47%) Yet 0-3 in ACC play

I remain a little concerned about how Syracuse matches up against physical and strong teams, but let's not go crazy after one game. UConn is really strong and really good. I have a lot of faith that Gerry will get a lot out of this group.

.@CuseWBB with a really strong 2Q, closing the first half on a 12-2 run to trail by 9. Coach Jack put together a roster that can get up and down the floor. SU has gotten some easy buckets in transition. Temple transfer Jaleesa Molina has benefited from that and been impressive.

Personnel notes from what I saw on the sideline for the Syracuse/Virginia game. Hopefully we get some more clarity on the health of the top three QBs today at 1 for Fran Brown's press conference. You can watch that presser live on Orange Nation.

Malachi Nelson to the locker room for Syracuse.

No LB Antoine Deslauriers or DB Nazir Ward so far for Syracuse on defense after being on injury report this week. Chase Geter and Zyian Moultrie-Goddard started in their place.

Good thing Fran Brown spent money on backup QB this year.

Had a chance to ask both Syracuse QB Amari Odom and WR Umari Hatcher what happened on the incredible 4th and 17 TD in OT at UConn Odom and Hatcher both said they practice that type of "scramble drill" a lot in practice and both called it "one of the best plays in the playbook."
