My latest article for @shot_au where I point out that Segal's latest 'report' was not requested by government or the PM. It's simply a rehash of last year's report - with a purpose beyond its pages. It's arrival has more to do with her strategy of filling media spaces with antisemitism angst now the royal commission is over, and also influencing the royal commission findings. It is also a document designed to inflame culture wars and get people arguing and create political division - a classic tactic of conservatives the world over. Nothing Segal says is new, (except of course for the astonishing claim she makes that all Jews in Australia are unbothered by neo-Nazis!) Comments welcome. theshot.net.au/uncategorized…

About 6 -7 weeks back I asked everyone if they had any great memories of the mid 1980s they could share. The replies overwhelmed me and I'm still working through them, (book character names are being awarded to the best responses 😎) Anyway here's a bit of a taste of the novel I'm currently working on and writing - this will be one you all helped contribute to. It's set in the economic boom times of 1984 Australia and it's a political thriller involving a mystery air explosion, ordinary people caught up in extraordinary happenings, uranium millionaires and rogue politicians. And naturally, it is called Boom. 💥
Okay, so I'm working on my 3rd novel which is set in Australia in late 1984 I'm looking for any memories of that time - what stood out to you then - what was happening in Australian culture - slang that was used - any personal memories - whatever else you think might be relevant The best ones will get a character named after them (or they can choose a character name if they want to remain anon) Characters so far are: - multi-millionaire mining magnate (M) - Sth Aust Liberal senator (F) - ex-cop, private bodyguard for mining magnate (F) - ex-Vietnam veteran turned recluse (M) - local bush mechanic/Jack of all trades (M) - wealthy socialite, ex-wife of mining magnate (F) Thanks so much, and please share if 1984 isn't your thing 🙏🏽 xx

Anywhoo, if you fancy reading 40 pages (minus 12 pages of pretty pictures) of unsourced conjecture being presented as irrefutable fact, which will then be used to attempt to significantly alter your way of life throughout most of Australian society, then here's the link: 👇🏽 aseca.gov.au/sites/default/f…

I've been reading through this, which was released today, and let me tell you - it is a hot mess. Jillian Segal (well let's face it, the taxpayer-funded team who work for her) has delivered a line of limited thinking that aims to insert itself into every aspect of Australian life - with no peer review, or any form of independent assessment. We are expected to simply take the Antisemitism Envoy at their word and shut up. As usual, it presents as a wandering discourse of unevidenced claims, taking particular aim at the increasing dissatisfaction with Israel by most of the western world and hiding it within the cloak of 'antisemitism' - a word tossed about freely throughout the document, a word that underwrites the document and all it's radical thought-policing, but a word that they fail to provide with any concrete definition or cohesive meaning. .

Some exciting news - no it's not free Tim Tams to every home in Australia. My debut novel Gunnawah has been shortlisted for the Danger Awards as Best Debut Fiction. I do have a big ask - the people's choice award is by public vote. In other words, I need your vote. You can vote here 👇🏽 easy peasy. forms.gle/goT5nSAt4Rehsr8P6 Or not, it's up to you but thank you for everything whatever you do. x

This was a massive hit back in 1971. Not my book of course - the song. If you were around in 1971, do you remember who sang it, and in what production? (Only 47 more sleeps to go) #TheCross ✞ Nov 24, 2026

Replying to @AlboMP @POTUS
From sexist pub-talk on bogan radio to continuing to push a totally unprepared-for losing referendum to posing with one of the most reviled men on the planet as if he's his best buddy, Anthony Albanese once again reveals he has the same ability to read a room as a blind 17 year old corgi. 40 years in politics and all he's learned is when you've continually proven you're tone deaf to public sentiment, it's best to keep proving it. . teapawt.net/AlboMP/status/21025659…
Always good to catch up with @POTUS. We spoke tonight on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
