I love this swing by Brendan Lawson who is projected Top 3 pick. Separation, turning behind the baseball, Coiling in back hip and controlling your load/forward move help hitters become elite! Learning how to get to your spot on time efficiently. ✅ Control the forward move. ✅ Create separation and space. ✅ Puts your body in a position to use the ground effectively. ✅ Generate speed and force with DIRECTION. The goal isn’t just to create power. It’s to create a move that’s controlled, repeatable, and allows you to be ON TIME. Good timing leads to efficient moves! Efficient moves lead to good timing ‼️🔑

The best hitters in the game have adjustability and elite barrel control ‼️🔑 Being able to get to different pitches in different spots. Ways to incorporate this in training 👇👇 👉 2 machines (In and out / up and down alternating) - Allows for the hitter to feel the adjustment each time 👉 1 machine that’s adjustable. You turn the machine as low as it can go then manually raise it up and down as you feed it. This can also help with plate discipline and working different zones ‼️

I saw 2 championship programs this past week. Everybody wants to play at championship programs like these. But wanting it and living the standard required to get there are two different things. It’s showing up every single day. 100% effort. 100% intent. Focus. Energy when you feel great. Energy when you don’t. Playing the game hard. Playing the game the right way. Being a selfless teammate. Doing your job. Being consistent when nobody is watching. For a lot of players, playing at that level is an idea. If your daily actions don’t match the standard of where you say you want to go, eventually that expectation becomes unrealistic. You don’t rise to that standard when you get there. You start living it long before you ever get the opportunity. 🔑

Prep work and routine working on lower half and extension ‼️🔥 Key points we are focusing on 👇👇 1. Med ball and banded loads trying to activate the lower half. Staying back while moving forward (For this hitter we are trying to stop the lunge on the front side and use backside through turn correctly) 2. We isolate the lower half working on extension with one hand work. Get the hands loaded into a good spot. Not scooping (controlling the barrel)/having good entry point to contact and working on plane through the ball. 3. Implement this into open 45 off the machine. Creating good direction with the body towards middle of the field. Finishing with regular swings. “To get better, sometimes you’ve got to set the bat down” 🔑

How do you prepare before you step onto the field? Is it mindless or intentional? Do you know what you’re doing and why? P4 commit working on direction, posture, and path before game. 👇👇 1. Top hand 2. Choked up letting baseball travel 3. Controlling posture/in a good spot to hit Simple and Locked in ready to go compete! 🔥

Some drill work for bat path, direction and barrel control👇👇 1. Low away flat bat with foam balls. 2. Split Grip off the machine low and away For this specific player he is trying to clean up the path and entry into the zone. Kid works hard and is obsessed with his craft‼️

Red Sox Hitting Coach John Soteropulos dropping knowledge! 🔥🧠 COACHES HAVE TO KNOW THEIR GUYS‼️ You can’t coach someone you don’t know or can’t connect with…. Coaches try to do it all the time. Just their way! It won’t work. 👇 Different players require different coaching. 🔑 Different drills. Different environments. Different ways to communicate. What works for one hitter might not work for the next. You can’t cookie cut hitting or the personality! Sometimes a player needs more information. Sometimes they need less. Sometimes they need you to slow things down. Sometimes they need you to bring them out of their hole. 🔥 A huge part of coaching is knowing what to say, how to say it, and when to say it. Coach the player, not just the swing.💯

Every player needs a routine built specifically for THEM. Not a drill you saw on social media today that doesn't work for you. Not a new routine tomorrow because you saw another video. Not a complete change because you had one bad game. Too many hitters are constantly searching instead of developing. Find what works for you. Understand WHY you’re doing it. Believe in it. Stick with it. Then give it time to work. Consistency with a purpose and plan create confidence!

A lot of hitters don’t know who they are. Before you become an elite hitter you need to know YOU. 1. What’s your routine? Why is that your routine? 2. What do you hit well? What don’t you hit well? 3. What type of player are you? Be intentional with your training 🔑🔥
