My blog this week for @WMPolice is mostly aimed at my fellow men in policing. It follows the unimaginable horror of #Saraheverard s murder.

MND is described as a rare disease but 1 in 300 have a lifetime risk of diagnosis. I’ve been living with it for over two years and like so many others dearly want to see my children thrive and grow. Please take a moment to help by lending your support. petition.parliament.uk/petit…

Bham East said farewell to Chief Insp Ahmed today after 30yrs service. Chief Supt Mat Shaer thanked him for his service to the force over the years. And said he should be incredibly proud of what he has achieved and the positive difference in communities he has worked in.

Twitter feels like a fairly depressing place at the moment, especially for cops.
On my last night, I saw officers arrest burglars + DA offenders. They also safeguarded dozens of victims and talked a suicidal man down off a motorway bridge. I am very proud of what they do #Aunit

Good to catch up with MP Andrew Mitchell at Sutton Park this morning. The park rangers and volunteers have been excellent. We have invited Mr Mitchell to join us for a late shift to get a truer picture of the reality and challenges we often face in policing the park & wider area.
Team working very hard at the moment to keep people safe. Thanks, and keep it up.

Rivers and lakes might seem appealing at the moment but please stay out of them for the sake of safety. We've just been told about 3 kids in the River Tame, and sent them home. Make sure you know where your children are playing

Difficult but powerful discussion that will benefit us all going forward. #AcocksGreen
Wow... that will undoubtedly be the most important set piece from @AVFCOfficial & @SheffieldUnited.
The issues are so emotive that it’s often hard to know how to respond in the right way: so let’s start by just listening.
Thank you Dave from @tyburnboxing for offering to come in and speak to our front line leaders today about your story about growing up as a black man in Erdington in the 80s. We found it powerful. lots more to do, we hope to learn and grow. @TomJoyceWMP #BlackLivesMattters
