I met someone yesterday that straight-faced said her tax preparer only charges her $75 for her 1040, which includes 4 rental properties.
1st off, how can they even cover their hard costs at that price?
2nd, for that price, how can they spend the time to make sure it's correct?
Taxpayers need to be aware that cheap fees come with a lot of corners being cut, and frequently, the returns are completely wrong, not just a few minor mistakes.

I still can't comprehend how our industry is still full of people running firms with race to the bottom fees? How are you remotely profitable charging $300/month for accurate bookkeeping? Coupled with basement level tax return fees & you're paying the clients to work for them.
