Iman Shumpert reveals to Gilbert Arenas and DeMarcus Cousins that Kyrie Irving legendary handle and moves was born out of necessity. According to Shumpert, Kyrie changed his playing style after suffering a turf toe injury in college, forcing him to adapt his game from being an above-the-rim player to a master of ground-level moves.

Most of the people that “don’t like you” don’t really know you and you haven’t done anything to them. You’re probably good at what you do, you’re smart, successful , and have done what they couldn’t or can’t do.

Analytic nerds never played the game. The game was fine and would be fine without analytics. Trust and believe.

Big fan of this: Like Dan Hurley’s teams at UCONN, daily skill development is something that a lot of the best coaches implement - even during the season You should not be the same player at the end of the season as the beginning, and your skill level needs daily refinement

Major difference between Yokic and Wemby
Wemby either catch and shoots or goes to the floor (usually left per Gil’s point)
.Jokic squares and reads the floor, then looks pass first, then shot if you are giving him space and lastly looks to put it on the floor (often in backdown) to create for others more often than not. One of the very main things that makes Yokic so special at his size is his patience and floor mapping ability. Wemby is better in help defensively, his only advantage in their current games.
The best breakdown of Wemby’s game you’ll hear all week 💯

Draymond discusses LaMelo Ball's viral travel "I saw the referee page tweeted that this is a travel but by their rule, I'm looking at it and once he bring the second hand, he 1, 2 and he's up! Seth Curry was saying like 'yo, by rule this ain't a travel' and I must say, I agree with Seth Curry, he never brings the second hand and when he does, he starts to rise up and shoot... in any basketball world outside the NBA, it is a travel, except the NBA don't have the same rules as those leagues" đŸ“ș Watch on YouTube | 🎧 Listen everywhere podcasts are available

Everybody wants a bigger role. Not everybody is willing to master the one they have. The best way to prepare for a bigger role is to be exceptional in the one you have. Don't let your ambition for more become an excuse for doing less.

Not your fault but most parents have no clue. You’re following the peanut gallery. There used to be no June bball & no basketball from the end of AAU til November. I’d say a lot of our kids did pretty damn good. Actually much better & much more accolades than this generation. Cuz we developed

One thing I’ve learned about toughness as a coach? You can’t give it to your players. They have to earn it. Cori Close nailed it. đŸ”„ “You don’t just become tough. You earn tough.” Worth 90 seconds of your time.

Dear AAU Parents, Please take a little advice from a parent who has been around AAU basketball as a Coach & parent for 20+ years. Stop chasing imaginary rankings from paid services like PGH and cool social media posts from programs that over hype players on socials because that is all they can offer. Don't get caught up with trainers who are only worried about your children when they are in their gym. Ask real questions of program directors about approach on player development, college relationships and track record of getting players to college programs. Ask directors about recruiting plans for their players. Pay attention to programs that retain players and are not out recruiting over entire rosters year over year. Track record & trust between families & programs matters; especially in a rapidly changing recruiting landscape, you better be with a program that is committed to all their players and not just a few high profile girls. The top of EVERY circuit has really good players/teams but the bottom of EVERY circuit has bad teams too. Being on an EYBL or 3SSB team, and playing 6-8 mpg can really hurt your recruitment. Not every program is a fit for every player/family but PLEASE do your homework!! Have honest discussions about potential level of play in college and where your child might fit. Be very weary of anyone who only talks about D1. Winning games in AAU is nice and hopefully your daughter is competitive and wants to win but it ultimately doesn't mean anything and not many college coaches are paying attention to the score unless one team is getting smoked. In fact, a coach might pay more attention to how your daughter is acting as a player when they are losing vs how they are playing in a 25pt win. Good luck to all as the girls get prepared for the High School season. @nj_panthers @CoachJordanNJP @unitedNJaau @ShoreshotsGirls @newjerseyrise @ESBC_BlueFlames @NJLadiesHoops @TinyGreenNBS @coachschoiceusa
