Accidentally said CI/CD instead of software factory and they kicked me out of SF
accidentally said microvm instead of agent sandbox and they kicked me out of SF

Ok, this is big! MCP now defines an extension specifically for discovering and loading Agent Skills from MCP servers (Save this, It’s worth reading how it works) The flow is pretty simple: - MCP Server - Discover available Skills - Get Skill metadata - Load the SKILL.md only when needed This is a huge step for better context window usage Instead of loading everything upfront, the agent can discover Skills and load only the one it needs from the MCP Great progress from the Model Context Protocol team! 👏 github.com/modelcontextproto…

there's so much left to be done in the application layer for agents - the success of @bot shows that we're barely scratching the surface
damn there really is no more alfa left in agents orbs maybe but that is mostly infra omp is the best harness sol/fable are great but don't feel amazing open source is getting better and better but will never be true sota on affordable hardware we peaked

at openai, many people hook their chatgpt up to slack. people really don't like when a coworker's chatgpt contacts them asking for help with a task, even when they'd be perfectly happy doing that same work if asked by that coworker. reinforces how much people care about human relationships and helping each other, and want AI to give time back — or enhance time together — rather than become a layer separating people.

quick update on how this is going: they have gone back to linear because maintaining their internal tool that they vibecoded was taking away from their actual work’s bandwidth.
an employee at this startup that my sister works at, made their own JIRA - they've all fully discarded JIRA/Linear/Trello, and are using their own tool. It's faaar better than JIRA and is just as detailed. and this person is not even a developer, he leads QA.

Totally works. And totally doesn't. Like anything else in business.
remote simply does not work for early stage startups.

I still sometimes see people saying "if you know how to write the code, it's faster to write it yourself" I'd argue the exact opposite: if you know how to write it, you gain nothing from doing the typing yourself - outsource that to a coding agent!

Angie is 100% correct (Yes, encouraging usage did make sense early on, aka last year, when there was both resistance for usage and costs were manageable)
called it. and yeah a year is a month in AI times

Saying that coding agents increase/decrease product development costs is like saying that introducing computers to a business in 1989 increases/decreases operational costs. It's extremely true, in both directions, depending on context, which makes both statements meaningless.

Would be cool if there was an easy way to share HTML pages You could imagine a world wide web of these documents, linked together Really cool idea
HTML is the new markdown. I've stopped writing markdown files for almost everything and switched to using Claude Code to generate HTML for me. This is why.

The confounding factor is that virtually every big company is overstaffed by 2-4x and has been for decades. AI is the catalyst/excuse to finally fix that. Of course nobody wants to say this out loud.
One bearish sign of all the AI layoffs is that the companies couldn't figure out how to produce even more by keeping the people and adding AI. I'm not entirely sure how to think about this.

Non-technical teams will be shipping code and one person on each team will get good at it so everyone on the team will go to them. Then some CEO will say “what if we took these people and put them on a team together” and they’ll name the new team something like “engineering”
