#backtoschool pics from Tiny T. Rex’s first day of school! He’s got his backpack and is ready to do impossible things. Tiny hopes all the kids going back to school (or going for the first time) have the very best school year! Keep trying your best to be brave and kind. 💚🦖

It’s #IndieBookstoreDay. As if I needed an excuse to buy another book and support great local businesses. Are you planning to shop for books today? Any recommendations?

Hi, friends! I've got a favor to ask: my wife is currently working on her dissertation and I would *love* if you might have time to fill out her survey - it's only for "current secondary social studies teachers" - so if this doesn't apply to you, feel free to share. Details ⬇️

Amazon, who loves to talk about being a friend to small businesses, charges its small business third-party sellers 34% in fees, according to a new @ILSR report. It now seems like Amazon's biggest profit stream isn't in fact AWS, but rather these exorbitant fees.
A striking measure of Amazon’s monopoly power is the vast stream of cash that it extracts from the businesses that have to rely on its site. In a new report, we find that Amazon is pocketing a 34% cut of sellers’ revenue — up from 19% in 2014. 1/ ilsr.org/amazons-toll-road/
