What happened in #Aberfan 54 years ago remains one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.
The loss of so many, most of them children, can never be forgotten.
As we remember them, let’s draw inspiration from the resilience shown by the community who faced the unthinkable.
Today we mark 54 years since the Aberfan disaster.
We will #NeverForget the lives of all the children and adults who were taken from us too soon.
At 9:15am Wales will come together for a minute of silence to remember them.

📢 Around 60 vehicles have already been turned away from #PenyPass this morning with some even parking by the signage.
Drivers said they thought we were 'just bluffing' when we said cars would be towed if obstructing the road...a recovery vehicle is already parked up there.
