Samurai Shodown R is a mobile MMORPG developed by @LumiWave_Lab in collaboration with @SNKPofficial, built on the @SuiNetwork.
Quick overview:
- It takes the legendary Samurai Shodown fighting game IP (the classic 1993 series known for intense one-strike sword combat and Edo-period Japanese aesthetics) and turns it into a real-time multiplayer online game.
- Core gameplay focuses on fast-paced PvP sword duels, character progression, skills, mounts, and clan systems.
- Iconic characters like Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Ukyo return with unique fighting styles.
Sui-powered features (running under the hood):
- zkLogin: Log in with Google or Apple. No wallet or seed phrase needed.
- Dynamic NFTs: my Assets like Mounts evolve in real time as you play (level 1 → 20), gaining new stats and visuals that update fully on-chain.
- Shared Objects Enables smooth multiplayer (clan quests, real-time PvP).
- Closed-loop tokens and on-chain progression that ties gameplay to ownership.
It launched in July 2025, remains active with regular updates, events, and maintenance, and is available on Android/iOS (with support planned for @SuiPlay).
It’s one of the stronger examples of a known IP + actual playable game + meaningful Sui integration still running and updating in the ecosystem.
