Happening now: #Truckee Fire crews on scene of an aircraft down near the Olympic Heights subdivision, between the railroad tracks and the Truckee River. Use caution if traveling in the area.

No injuries reported after a snow plow hit a propane tank this morning. The subsequent leak is believed to cause a neighboring house to explode.

On Thursday, December 1, 2022, shortly before 6:30pm, Truckee Fire crews responded to a residential structure fire in the Pla-Vada neighborhood. Upon arrival, responders found a single family residence fully involved with fire.
With assistance from Cal Fire and Olympic Valley Fire, firefighters contained the fire shortly after 7:00 pm The fire was reported by a neighbor and nearby residents assisted responders with accessing a fire hydrant that had been buried in snow by a recent storm.
