Liam is a dedicated family man and Police Officer, currently serving on the Armed Response teams. He has put others above himself his whole life, and now Liam and his family need your help.
Three months ago Liam was preparing for the arrival of his third child when he was rushed into hospital. The discovery of a brain tumour and a major haemorrhage led to emergency surgery. While he was receiving life-saving treatment, his wife Lucy was giving birth to a beautiful baby boy.
What should have been one of the happiest times for this family quickly became the hardest โ a situation no family should ever face.
Liam continues to be hospitalised and faces a long recovery from a serious brain injury and oncology treatment. At home, Lucy is caring for their newborn and two young children while trying to support Liam through treatment and rehabilitation.

This case Iโm raising highlights clear human rights issue.
The blanket ban on police officers forming or joining a trade union dates back to 1919 and is entirely out of step with modern standards. There is no justifiable reason why police officers should be treated differently from firefighters, doctors, or prison staff, all of whom can unionise.
The government now has a choice - engage in reform or face a likely defeat in the courts.

Yesterday I spent a shift with Emergency Response officers from Central West BCU (North). The experience was a powerful and poignant one from the moment I arrived. The โearly turnโ officers were sprinting out the door to attend a report of persons who had been seriously injured.

It feels very strange - after 30 years of police service and corresponding membership of @PFEW_HQ (I'm still a member now, despite not wanting to be) - for another independent organisation that I'm a member of @SpeechUnion to be truly sticking up for me, truly defending my rights and truly doing their very best to ensure I'm legally represented and in a position to be able to challenge the quite outrageous and unlawful bullying behaviour I've been subjected to in the workplace......... against the very organisation @PFEW_HQ that I've been paying into for 30 years to do just that. ๐ค๐คฆ๐

๐คInspector Rรณisรญn Brown shares her story with Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 about being assaulted while on duty.
Following the attack, she was taken to hospital and later signed off work for a period of time.
She details the mental toll it took on her as well as the impact it had on her family.
On average, nine officers are assaulted every day. The @PoliceFedforNI is calling on legislators and the courts to take "tough and decisive action" to address this unacceptable level of violence.
The call comes as part of a new public campaign titled โLet Them Protectโ.
