This year marks the 20th anniversary of the @UN Study on Violence against Children, the landmark report that affirmed that NO VIOLENCE against children is justifiable and that all violence against children is preventable.
Children affected by conflict face heightened risks of conflict-related sexual violence, trafficking, and exploitation. As we mark this milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to preventing these crimes, supporting survivors, and ensuring that every child can grow up free from violence.

🌟 TRACES is Ukraine’s Official Entry for the 99th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category!
Directed by Alisa Kovalenko and co-directed by Marysia Nikitiuk, the documentary amplifies the voices of Ukrainian women who survived conflict-related sexual violence and torture during Russian aggression. Having their stories heard on the global stage is a monumental step for our entire team and for the advocacy movement.
📌 UN Women is an impact partner of “TRACES”, supporting efforts to raise awareness of conflict-related sexual violence and amplifying the voices of survivors. We are proud to support the film and its team as “TRACES” reaches international audiences and brings greater visibility to the stories of Ukrainian women and their pursuit of justice and dignity.

171 years.
That’s how long gender equality will take at the current pace. Not one SDG 5 indicator is on track.
Progress requires legal reform, investment, leadership, better gender data and stronger action to prevent and respond to conflict-related sexual violence.
Women and girls cannot wait.

Recently in Mogadishu, the leadership of @SNAForce signed a landmark Command Order on conflict-related sexual violence, which operationalizes Somalia’s national and international commitments to investigate and sanction perpetrators while supporting survivors seeking redress.
Developed with support from @UNTMIS_, the Office of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict, and @UNAction, this order reinforces zero tolerance and the STOP RAPE NOW across SNA ranks.
